Well deserved :thumb: No Del Piero though?

He did. But it could because a lack of competition. Messi was injured half the year. Torres didnt win anything with Liverpool, he scored in the final of Euro 2008 but had a pretty average tournament.

Goalkeepers rarely win it, Xavi isn't fashionable enough, Arshavin plays in the Russian league, David Villa was part of a terrible Valencia side. Kaka was injured alot. Zlatan did nothing in the CL and Gerrard... Well I don't know why hes there, when Del piero had a much better season :thumb:

^^yeah i agree. I dont think Del Piero was even nominated though. im not sure.

Yea he deserved to win it and is extremely talented but i just hate his personality and his attitude.

Hopefully Messi can win this next year and then go on to lead Argentina singlehandedly to the World Cup :) (provided Ireland are not there of course)

4. Premiership Teams
5. Spanish Teams

Better variety in Spain no? :cheesy:

Plus when the list does not have Del Piero/Benzema/Iniesta. It cannot be taken that seriously.

The thing about the Balon D'or is that the players in top 10 or 20 throws up a few surprises and some players that should be in it are excluded but the top 3 are usually spot on.
