Beyonce Knowles has recieved a nomination for the Ultimate Urban category of the MTV Europe Music awards, which will be held in Liverpool on 6th November.
Organisers have announced that the R&B star will also be performing at the event.
The 27 year old former member of Destiny's Child is competing against Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne in one of 10 awards at the event voted for by music fans.
Singers Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis have been nominated for the Best Act of 2008.
