So I just discovered in my torrent of SNES roms, a whole bunch of hacked games. These are sick. I kinda knew before that these things existed but I never had any.

Basically, hackers have taken popular SNES games like Mario and Zelda, reverse engineered the code and taken them apart, and then made entire new games using the original engines. It's insane how good some of them are. Sometimes they mash up different games together, like there's one in here that uses the Super Mario World engine but with all the enemies from Super Mario Bros 2. And then there's one called Brutal Mario which has new levels and uses bosses from different games.

There's a few Mario Kart hacks as well including Mario Kart R which has all new courses, graphics, music and Kirby as a playable character.

It's amazing how far people have gone with these. They've basically created all new games and shit.

Here's a link that has these hacked ROMs in there, for all of you that have SNES emulators on your computers or smartphones (or both).

It has the following games:

Brutal Mario

Dan's Adventure
Joe's Adventure
Kid Adventure (not sure what these ones are, haven't tried them yet)
Legend Of Zelda - The Parallel Worlds (based on Link To The Past)
Mario Is Missing 2 - Luigi's New Adventure
Mario Kart R
Mega Rex Island
Metroid Legacy
Oh No! More Zombies Ate My Neighbours
Panic In The Mushroom Kingdom
Panic In The Mushroom Kingdom 2
Super Mario World 2 + 2
Super Mario World 2 + 3 - The Essence Star
Super Mario World 2 +
Super Demo World - The Legend Continues
Super Mario in Bowser's Last Stand
Super Mario Kart: Alternative Tracks
Super Mario Kart: Pro Edition
Super Mario World Master Quest 6 - The Adventures Of Mario
Super Mario World Master Quest 7 - Redrawn
Super Metroid - Golden Dawn
Super Metroid - Redesign
Super Metroid - Zebes Returns
Super Puzzle World 2
The Second Reality Project 1
The Second Reality Project 2 - Zycloboo's Challenge
Ultimate Zombies Ate My Neighbours
Yoshi's Island: Kamek's Revenge

Enjoy. There's also a Chrono Trigger hack game somewhere, I know some of you here are Chrono Trigger fans. I don't have that one though, but supposedly it's called Chrono Trigger: Prophet's Guile, here's some info I found about it:

This version of the SNES classic Chrono Trigger is all about Magus. Prophet's Guile is the length of two chapters of Chrono Trigger and tells the story of Magus rising to power in the Kingdom of Zeal. Consider this SNES ROM hack to be like the prequel Star Wars trilogy of Chrono Trigger, except without annoying kids and Jar Jar.

sounds good. i remember there was a fake sonic the hedgehog 4 for SNES only back in the day (on cartridge).

it'd be good if they could do some stuff with sonic games for the mega drive. i seriously need to play sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles properly (i never had those as a child, same for the original sonic - just had sonic 2). i did play sonic 3, and sonic and knuckles rented, just never had them long enough to play properly and even then my brother always used to go first and play for so long...

sonic 2 was my game, i grew up on that.

theres loads of hacked sega games too. ive come accross loads of hacked roms over the years, i had this mortal kombat one that they some how made into a platform game, was pretty fun.
