are americans ignorant to world wide hip hop

that aint true hip hop is already world wide dude. It's huge in europe. I think a main reason why they don't listen to world wide hip hop is because they don't understand the language. Well other than what coems out of UK. Another reason is the only way to hear it is the internet and not even then is it easy to aquire hip hop songs/CD's. The main reason i don't listen to World Wide hip hop is the language barrier. Well the UK accents don't make it easy either lol. Frenchies are just frenchies and i actually speak german but they try too hard to be like the americans thats why i dont like it.

Well thats just my 2 cents on the subject.

I think that most Americans are ignorant to British hip hop, but I can't really blame them when it comes to hip hop from other countries cos of the language barrier. It'll take time but rappers from the UK will get the recognition they deserve sooner or later cos its too hard to ingnore the talent.

Just remember, Grand Master Flash was american. Run DMX was an american group. Why is it that almost even thread in WoW turns into ' Americans are ignorant to this ' or ' F-ck Americans ' Unless you know just about every last american who listens to hip hop, how can you even guess that they are ignorant to international hip-hop.

I've come to that conclusion from reading replies from Americans on these and other forums. Obviously I don't know if they are all like that, but judging from the amount of them that disregard anything that they aren't familiar with it seems like most americans are ignorant.

Name some good non-American rap. <<<im actually asking not being a dick.

French hip-hop is very good,it's the 2nd hip-hop major scene after US,there are a lot of dope rappers in here like Kool Shen of NTM,Akenaton and Shurik'n of IAM,Booba,Disiz La Pest,Rohff...I'll try to upload and share some tracks of french hip-hop later...

Some Americans are...

Take me for example, the idea of Australian rap sounds retarded to me, only because of what the average American portrays Australians as. I couldnt imagine Steve Irwin rapping. :)

not all americans of course.
Even these so called "heads" want to listen to rappers from /mainstream/underoung/southern/east/west. etc
but no ones checking out music on a global scale. WHY?. its it cause others countrys dont have gimmicky corperate tactics to promote there music to a more commercial fan base. even people that consider themselves 'open to all music arnt going out of there way to sample differnt flavours of hip hop and creativty from around the world.

Would you agree that other countrys have more of a hip hop culture, also that isnt as based around violence and repetative commericial music?

And are there artists in non american countrys that appreciate hip hop even more than alot of american aritsts do, by making hip hop for more of a love of it than there next pay cheque?

and is the source right saying "it might not be long before the true essance of hip hop will be found of our shores"

and why is there people from non american countrys that only listen to US rap
just theories/questions. what do you think?
I think people who do listen to it should start sharing artist names etc. so other people can check them out :p.

an american culture created hiphop, It's not that were ignorant, it's that when rappers from other cultures attempt to mimic some of the shit that goes on in america it just dosen't come out right. example Brittish rappers talking about guns, not only are handguns and assult riffles illegal in that country, but rappers talking about that shit probably never even shot one.

I don't feel anything else than American Hip-Hop. It may be ignorant but I mean that shit is real to me, I guess cuz it's American culture. I tried to listen to foreign shit but I ain't like it.

I'm ignorant to worldwide hip hop sure.. that's because I don't get any exposure to it and I couldn't relate so someone rapping in a diff language about life in a counrty I've never been too.

actualy other the majority of hip hop from otha countrys arnt just tryin to be US clones. alot of foreign hip hop has nothing to do with violence, guns ,bitches, jewrelly , etc. and as far as rappers talking about that shit and have never shot anyone , well, that probaly accounts for 99% of rappers in the US to.

The rappers from countries outwith the US who try to mimic US rap are mocked for doing so & thus, get nowhere, so the top rappers from countries outwith the US aren't trying to be American.

And British rappers can't talk about guns? Why? You think it is really difficult to get a gun here? And a lot of Americans like to brag about their unregistered firearms - meaning they are illegal. So if a US rapper raps about having an illegal weapon he's 'real' & 'gangsta' but if a British rapper raps about having an illegal weapon he's just faking? That's bullshit.

lmao

Anyways, getting back on topic. I'm going to be honest :). I'm from the UK, England. And I can't stand the rap/hiphop/MC'ing or whatever, over here. I have tried to get into it, but I just can't. The Streets, in my opinion, are absolute garbage. SkinnyMan, I know alot of you English dudes like him, but I personally, don't. Who's that other one? Is it Kato? That English dude. Damn, I think he's garbage too. We had So Solid Crew, who were also garbage lol. You know, this is all what I think, you know. We all have different tastes in music and shit, so it's all good :) :thumb:
