That's a contradictory statement. The shoes are overpriced regardless of what you pay? Paying more is what makes them overpriced. Getting them at 50% make's them a good deal.

If you want something cheap you can just do some docs on and browse the net the PC is a better fit for you.
If you want something that is stable in a heavy production environment, whether video, audio or digital graphics and photo editing, the Mac is for you.
The Mac is just more efficient in what it does. It is simple. The Mac's hardware is standard so the OS can be tweaked for those specific configurations by the developer and it runs better where as Windows based PCs need to be able to run on a huge range of different set ups.
Its like this, you can stick an F50 Ferrari onto a bumpy dirt track with a whole bunch of shit and obstacles on a road that twists and turns and even though it is a superior machine spec wise it will fail, stop halt and generally get to the same destination slower than if you put a regular family car onto a smooth straight cement road.

that's the only positive thing of mac. if you ain't a music producer, graphic maker, video maker and any practicing other jobs/hobbies related to media, the mac is not necessary for you. actually the mac is overpriced and completely unnecessary if you use it daily only for internet, games, checking your email and doing some text projects.

I look at it like this, I have a PC, well a laptop actually, for those things. To me a Mac isnt a PC, it is a tool that happens to be a computer.
but a lot of people buy macs for those simple activities and say its better. it is not. for that its overpriced and not worthed at all. yeah the macbook looks fucking sexy, just like tons of pc laptops out there. people buy it for the name, not for what it is.
I bought my macbook for video editing. I wish I didn't. It's not because the mac sucks, its that the Macbook isn't powerful enough. It doesn't have its own video card so it takes memory from the RAM (it comes with a low amount, I spent an extra 100 bucks getting 2 gigs). I wish I saved up more to get a Macbook Pro but oh well, its a nice laptop for travel but I'm way too use to PCs.

^^^ (in the Pros) Integrated Nvidia and 9600M GT GPU. We'll likely see the GPU handling some extra processing in the near future which would result in substantial performance increase in certain apps.
Apple products are designed and produced by Apple -- from a single screw hole on the case all the way to the shading of the graphical interface of the OS. Apple gives you a full, simple, working product in a beautiful seamless package.
PC products are designed with cost reduction in mind so that people like Jeremy won't scream bloody murder when they go to Wal Mart for their computer purchases.

(ie. the screens on the new MacBooks and MacBook Pros produce completely different results even though the only difference you can spot on paper is the physical size of the display). There's a $700 difference between the MacBook and the MacBook Pro - spending $700 more for the Pro isn't a rip off like Jeremy would like you to believe - there are clear differences and sometimes you can't easily spot them but it's there.

what pcs do they sell in america? "made for low cost"? yeah they are, if you actually do go to wal-mart and buy your pc there. but come the hell on? rule number one, if you want something good, go to a specialist, not a nationwide store that sells EVERYTHING. do you buy your tvs at ikea? go to an actual computer store, or better yet, buy parts online and put it together yourself. i have a fairly powerful pc, or it was powerful when i got it anyway. 2,7ghz quad core, 4 gigs of ram, geforce 9800gtx gpu. it cost me around $1000. now, shit's always more expensive here, so you should be able to get the same pc for $500-800 in america if you put it together yourself (which is not hard if you're not an idiot). i don't know mac prices but i bought high end pc parts. solution pcs with bundled software suck, so don't be an ass-sheep and buy those.

I'm not saying they suck as a computer but they are over priced ALOT. Add a extra two gigs of RAM? Oh that will be $199. Thanks sucker. Final cut pro? That will be $1299. LMFAO I got four gb of ram in my PC and I only paid $99 for it. You pick out any MAC you want to Salty and I will part out a PC that has more ram, better processor, bigger hard drive, better video card (not that integrated bullshit on some off the macbooks), better sound card for a ton cheaper than any mac you can price out.

I'm looking at buying a laptop. Doing a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts next year and the family computer is too crowded. I want a laptop so I can do research etc while I'm traveling to and fro etc.. At first I was thinking a cheap laptop and then realised you can't get anything but Vista on them plus my Mum works in Tech Support for Internet and its common knowledge that Mac > Others. I'm a ways away from buying so I'm open to change, but I'm thinking of paying a bit more and getting a Mac.
I don't see how internet for mac is greater than others. If you're smart and don't download the attachment sent from 45322sidhottie@hotmail.com you won't have a problem. You can buy a laptop and format the hard drive (which you should do anyways, you don't want the shit they install on it) and reinstall windows xp if you know someone with the disk or download it. Hackers will find easier ways to hack into macs, they're too popular not to.
The thing I like about my macbook is the battery life. It can last about 5-6 hours unplugged while my friends pc laptops last 3-4 hours. Get a macbook pro if you don't plan on playing games on it. Also download all the programs that you need, you don't need to pay thousands of dollars for a single program.
