just wondering for the people on this message board, do any of you consciously keep a healthy diet (ie. with what you eat, and exercise daily)

My question is not necessarily for those people, but could also go to those that just bulk up and workout to gain muscle mass.

At 6" and 155pounds, i consider myself a bit of a lightweight for my height. I've been trying to put on some muscle mass, i've been trying creatine and protein powder and shakes, and am wondering if there are any success stories out there. This is not an obsession or anything, and i'm not in rush to bulk up (so that means i am not looking to do steroids or any other type of illegal drug, + i am a kinda health nut ;)) but just wondering if any one is in a similar situation that i am. If so, what have tried, what works? what doesn't? Cause if you can convince me of a method i haven't tried, i would be willing to give it a shot!

Thx for your time!

keep on using creatine while working out. when you stop using it you will probably lose muscle mass however the body shape that you will have devloped whilst being on creatine will stay with you-

just train for bulk, by doing heavier weights and less repititions. however, if your just starting to hit the weights stick to medium weights and 8-12 reps for the first couple months, just so you can get your technique right, and save yourself from injuring yourself. its a must to eat well, which is about 200 grams of protein, 300 grams of carbs and less than 90 grams of fat a day (this is very hard to do, as your supposed to eat 5-6 times a day). protein shakes will heap you reach this target, but they are quite expensive so it is hard to continually use them 3 times a day. also, if your a teenager, you may find it hard to put on weight. ive had this trouble myself, but i have gone from 76kgs to 92kgs in about a year of training. combine the training with a good diet and you will gain good results.

thanks i'll have to revise my workout a bit then, ive started training 3 months ago and gained about 5 pounds

shuba, training is only 25% of it, diet 75%!! so it makes sense that it's more important to get your diet right, and with regards to creatine it's a brilliant supplement but without the right diet and training programme you won't see much results, also creatine only works for 70% of people which take it, so if it's not doing much for you, you would be better off spending your money on another supplement,

if you got any questions pm me
