annoying situation

it's annoying how one of your friends is talking to you about something which you couldn't really give a shit about, and you're placed in a situation where you're forced to nod and feign interest.

my friend was telling me about 2 people he recently started speaking to on the internet. all i thought was "do i need to know this?" "why is he telling me this?" "does he really think i am interested in his obsession with 2 random people he met on the internet" and "what will my mother be cooking for dinner tonight?"

it is pretty annoying, and im getting tired of hearing his lame ass stories about his life which are less interesting than watching a plant grow

anyone experience similar things?

Oh hells yeah. Brian Ness was telling me about how he called off his engagement because his girl wasn't spending enough time with him. And worse yet, he asks me what I think he should do like I'm in the relationship, like I know what he wants, like he's just looking for reassurance. I told him - there's not much I can say because it's your decision either way.

Another thing. Brian and I were hangin' with a few dudes and the whole night was a repeat of how many fights they got into and the cars they've owned. And they wonder why I did't say shit. I don't take part in such pointless conversations. Then I started to annoy them. I got heated after one of the guys kept telling me to play Pimp C's "I'm Free" because he liked the Tom Petty sample. "I was like no no no, listen to this Lupe joint, it's much better" and he was like "no, play that Tom Petty song". yeah.
The Pimp C part was more about alcohol than anything. Drunks are annoying.

i forgot to mention one thing. i don't tell him anything about my life, and i dont think he's realised it. i havent told him anything about my life for about 3-4 years because he doesn't even pretend to be interested. i found that insulting so i don't tell him anything because all he gives a shit about is giving me a detailed recount about conversations he's had with 2 people he met on the internet (just one example).

my point is, he only ever speaks to me to tell me random things that are happening in his life. in my view that's being self absorbed because he never calls to see how i am, or whats doing in my life, and whenever i TRY to slip something in about myself he gives me the "oh cool" in a very uncaring tone. it's very one sided and i find it annoying.

i dont understand why you're trying to attack me here by being a smart arse. i never inferred i was the most interesting person in the world. i guess you're still holding a grudge about a supposed disagreement we had over a year ago. let it go dude
