I got an opportunity to test out a few phones for Nokia & Motorola coming out in 2011/2012 a few weeks ago and I just have to say Nokia has a pretty cool looking phone coming out with some awesome apps + features.

Still haven't had time to mess with my phone. Really want a custom ROM now. Fed up with Samsung bloating on my phone. Need to move my photos across as anything else I am happy to lose.


Edit - Some info on Applanet, I found on another forum I frequent. I can't confirm as I don't use it.


Need a version higher than 2.5.1 to connect due to new anti leech they have implemented, latest version is 2.5.8

As you can see we have bandwidth issues. And you may think Why Zsakul2. You are still far below the 6tb. Well this is in the best thoughts for the future of applanet. And me not having to spend a few thousand dollars on going over limit! Anyways. This is why applanet is down. We have disabled applanet until we get our new dedicated server up. We have plans to get this server.

As we wont really be needing support we have what we need. Anyways applanet will be down before i can talk to support and get the 100 dollar setup fee waived for me.
So applanet may be down for a day.. or two. Im not giving any specific downtime. But it could be alot less then i expect. We can only hope. You can keep tabs on the situation by following us at facebook.com/applanet or our twitter WHICH I RARELY UPDATE. I do not like twitter that much. Also, this shit costs money we have donations by only 400 of the 50 Or more thousand users (Calculated by total unique downloads of beautiful widgets) So donations are welcome for this free service. If you wish to know our current ammount of donation money please ask me personally since the ammount changes with the purchase of servers and payments of applanet shit..
Anyways, that is all expect applanet downtime until we get to the new unmetered bandwidth server. Also if you have any input about maxdedicated please tell me so i can know of our future server provider!

LG delivering 4-inch Android with dual-core Tegra 2 processor and 1080p video early next year | larsa | Androinica)

Remember when LG promised it would deliver Tegra 2 powered Android devices with dual-core processors in Q4 2010? Well, they won’t arrive this year, but in early 2011 when we’ll get an Optimus phone rocking a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, as well as a front-facing cam. That’s pretty impressive specs.

It will be the very first Android phone packing a dual-core CPU, and the device is currently codenamed Star by LG, but that will likely change before the phone is released. As the Google logo on the back of the device suggests, the Star is said to run a virtually unaltered version of Android with no modifications, which is great news for those who prefer Android just the way Google made it.

LG’s future flagship Android phone will come with a 1500mAh battery, a micro SD slot and micro USB connectivity. The Star should arrive in early 2011, and it will be a battle of the titans when it goes head-to-head with Samsung’s latest and greatest. Who will win?

On a related note - my friend just bought this. The LG Optimus One (P500):

It's a mid-range, but a VERY good midrange. Comes with FroYo out of the box and is deceptively speedy. Nice specs for a midrange. Apparently LG have already sold a million of them.

They had a slow start (much like Samsung) but I really think that LG are going to have some incredible Android devices over the next year. That dual-core device will be a big seller.

the ads for the optimus one are all over the buses.

also, since chelsea football club have samsung as their shirt sponsor, they advertise many Samsung devices during the football match. very often is the Samsung Galaxy S phone that is animated on the LCD screens around the perimeter of the pitch during live football matches. great way to promote that device and android.
