Android Market tripled in app count in the last 6 months. They also just released a NDK (Native Development Kit), meaning apps can be programmed in C/C++ as well as Java, which makes porting easier. Basically, just give it time and the holes will get plugged.

Anyway, for all of you who use Google Reader like me, peep the Market for an update that adds widgets. Cool beans.

I need more of the PC based programs to make it to android. They haven't made it to IOS yet though either. But I don't see why programmers don't make games for all OS, especially tablets as they are going to be the most popular devices in future. And I don't want lite programs either. I want the full package. I could give a fuck about 32gb storage. I'll store each game I want on a seperate flash card and slot it in when I want to play.
 
Just installed CM7 RC1. Gingerbread rocks! Loving the Theme Chooser (big up to T-Mobile for developing it and then open-sourcing it!!!)

that looks quite good. but more importantly, i can tell the future... i predict you will be en route to Birmingham in just over a week.

i see you can fit icons on your screen 7x5 (not including the launcher; rows x columns). im using ADW launcher and have set it at 6x5.

i dont use a task killer anymore. i just use the "running applications service" which is built into froyo. and i hate that the new twitter runs in the background constantly. more annoying is whatsapp.
 
The CRT animations for screen on and screen off are AWESOME!
 
One thing that always bugged me about clock widgets is while they look cool, what is the need for two clocks, its pointless. I wish there was a way to disable the clock on the noification bar

i hate the fact that the HTC sense widget clock is so big on a small htc wildfire screen. so i put a smaller clock on my mum's phone. i think the notification bar font size is a bit small for her hence why i leave the widget on. will look into it more, but i'd like to flash a custom rom on the wildfire if it is possible. i know that temp root can be achieved, dont know about permaroot.

Does this still not mean shit in terms of efficiency of the processor? The article mentions some phones lagging because they need to render stuff on a higher resolution screen. Is its screen still not the best?

Yeah but it's still about games. You render 3d games and animations and that's when some phones are faster and some are slower. The only opportunity to see a difference between Galaxy S and LG Star 2X. Apart from benchmarks, unzipping files and such.
 
I was absent for a few days and now I'm reading about the MWC. Wow. I'm impressed. Looks like the biggest mobile phone event made over the last few years. Huge announcements. So many of them. Again, wow. I know that I want probably half of the phones announced there. So many innovations and changes.
Only HTC failed to impress me. Nothing new, just recycled last year's models with minor changes.
LG, Samsung and Sony Ericsson really impressed me though. And Nokia + Windows Phone 7. All of these these are groundbreaking in some ways.

Iphone = Samsung + LG + Chinese factory and some extra chips from smaller companies. Nothing more nothing less if it comes to hardware.
Only a part of its software and marketing are made by Apple.
 
so im about to root a HTC Wildfire. I know that if it has official 2.2 FroYo, it cant be rooted using the unrevoked facility since FroYo patched the exploit found with Eclair, making unrevoked obsolete. unrevoked have now found a way to achieve S-OFF:

Unrevoked 3.32 is out now, which i think allows the Wildfire to be rooted if already on FroYo.

Once that is completed, i can then flash Clockwork Recovery and CyanogenMod 6.1 (FroYo), or CyanogenMod 7 RC1 (Gingerbread).
 
Browsing the forum on new 10 inch tablet. Very happy. 2500 on quadrant.

Running a modaco rom at the moment but there is a cyanogenmod rom too. Waiting for the honeycomb source code to be released, then hopefully they'll be a honeycomb port. But i'm still pretty happy with it on froyo.
 
^Damn pitts. i feel sorry for you. I remember when mine crashed and I lost all my music and i teared up lol
