Star-studded R&B singer Akon was given a break yesterday (December 1) by a Fishkill judge, regarding his harassment case.

As previously reported, Akon was charged with minor endangerment and second degree harassment on 15-year old Anthony Smith during a concert in Fishkill, New York after he picked him up and flicked him off a stage.

The incident occurred after the teenager threw an object onto a platform while the R&B singer was performing.

According to The Times-Herald-Record, the new date for Akon’s court appearance has been scheduled for Wednesday (December 17).

If convicted, Akon could face jail time.

In related news, Akon’s anticipated third studio album, Freedom will be available today (December 2) in stores and on iTunes.

The album will include thirteen tracks with guest appearances from Colby O’Donis, Kardinal Offishall, Sweet Rush, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Ray Lavender and Wyclef Jean.
