2pac Hollywood Walk Update! Puffy Gets a star but no star for Pac? We have to wait

This was absurd when I got word from the Hollywood Folks this morning. Below is a press release I posted on myspace and I want to drop it hea for all my folks.


A lot of you know that my partner Muszamil and I started the 2pac Hollywood Walk of Fame nomination process. It was a brilliant idea by Muszamil to honor his late mentor and we put in so much effort on this project and organized the Tupac Shaku Estate to get behind us. It was great to receive a lot of fan support from online and the streets and many notable people were behind the petition which now has generated over 5000 plus signatures. All the paperwork was submited and we had been in constant contact with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce we complied with every request they had and were hopeful to be celebrating this week an approval of Tupac's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but instead received news today that no posthumous stars were selected this year. Since Tupac passed away 10 years ago he is under the posthumous category and this makes the process difficult but it still is an outrage that stars are being handled left and right to everybody and 2pac the biggest selling rap star, an actor and someone with huge impact is being ignored. We were asked to wait another year, but who knows what answer we will receive then. A lot of the Hollywood folks on the Walk of Fame committee need to see the impact 2pac had.
We have registered an official 2pac walk of fame myspace page with a link to the official petition, which we will drop this week and we will ask everybody to get behind it. Also an official website is on it's way. Muszamil has vouched to speak about the petition in every promotional venture he has on his album and at every show. We are also glad that some real cats from San Diego have gotten behind us and are spreading the word on the streets and online and the drastic increase in the signatures shows their impact.

Tell me why Sean "P Diddy" Combs is getting a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.... WHILE TUPAC SHAKUR HASNT EVEN GOTTEN ONE YET?!


Ya, Pac is dead, but he's sold more albums than any other Hip Hop artist, ever; and is the highest posthumously selling artist since elvis! Not to mention 6+ movies, 1 screenplay coming soon , and achievements that would take 50 pages to write!


After further research i found this site to petition this cause.. I'm signing it...If you want to see Pac have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, then you sign it too...


There has been too many moments in the club when his music had the whole crowd screamin "California Love" or "It's All About You" for us not to sign this...


There's been too many moments in life when we've found comfort in a Pacs words for us not to sign this...


There have been too many moments where we've learned from Pacs lessons through his music and actions for us not to sign this.


We owe this to him.

petitions on the internet are really useless... i'm pretty pissed myself about this because believe it or not i am a huge 2pac fan too but there's gotta be a better way to get this addressed... keep up the good work though
 
Thanks bro but this one actually worked and caught their attention early on when we had 4000+ sigs in less then a week and they asked us to keep it low pro not to put pressure on them. We got real lawyers from the shakur estate involved in this, we submited all the paperwork and have complied with everything they asked for. All we need is to show that people still got love for Pac. You will see us at most venues on the Pac tour, plus we have other plans to get major people involved cause hollywood is all about big names . Leave a myspace message, email anything doesn't have to be a petition just to show hollywood folks pac still has fans checking for him and is a major draw that can add to their toursim and give them publicty this is what it's all about from their point of view.

We spend a lot of money out of our pockets organaizing all this and when we did an online fundraiser we only got one check for $5 from the homie Nick so this ain't about money, fame, just man for real how can Pac not have a star when everyone has..... Pac always taught us in his music and interviews to fight for what you believe in and Mil is walking proof of this and I am holding him down till the end on this untill we have that star up....

Faggy gets a star, for bad acting & having other ppl write his lyrics..but Pac does not? who are the dumbasses handing out the stars thats my question
 
Dis is stupid, how can he get one a Pac don't, ive signed da petition already but ima do it again.

I feel Young G if you believe in this go for it, but personally I think that the energy given towards this venture could be invested in greater things, who cares really if some committe dont recognize Pac, it wouldn't be the first time a beautiful gift was passed over because others were to tyte eyed and blind to even see it.

Theres many more ways I feel that Pacs legacy can live on, by taking the principles we feel of his and living them, for that is life, to live, and so one I am going to carry with me frome now (til motherfuckin ever :p) is to change (to change for the better, to grow).

This I wonder, what is accomplished then once Pac gets a star? We get the recognition of ppl who dont care anyways, that too me dont make sense. These are my feelings about the situation.

I care plenty about 2Pac getting a star. Especially since this year is the 10th anniversary of his death. Already a decade has passed since he died, so I think it would've been a great honor for him to have a star.

But at the same time fuck them. The committee is full of shit. Right now my concern is on 2pac's music and promotion to tell you the truth. I want a classic album from pac to make up for his last one and I'll fill complete. The star thing is just excess stuff. In no way am I trying to belittle the Hollywood walk and your movement, but I'd rather have a fight for the justice of 2pac's music, but I'll still sign the new petition though and help with your cause.
 
It sucks, but all we can really do is keep signing the petitions and be patient. It won't help to act hastily, as Anakin found out in Star Wars Episode 3..

Everyone thanks for all the support and believe me as far as the music we have made a lot of noise and that is why the corporate type people from the estate are hating on Mil and is one of the reasons why the 2pac legacy tour did not put him on. It is sad that all those people care about profit from the greedy music people who care about the big interscope names, to the tour promoter. I encourage Mil and he always fights for what is right in reping for Pac and we will put those people who are making profit of a dead men on blast even if it means being blackballed in the industry and not being invited to a 2pac legacy tour. How u gonna have a 2pac legacy tour and blackball his youngest protege? Thank GOD for Edi of the Outlawz who gonna let Mil get on the outlawz set.

So much more I want to say and I wish fans could know how fake some of these people are man it would make you sick but most are aware just look at the "Loyal to the game" project and the fact these corporate cats hating making money off pac.

Where is the interview with Mill? And who is doing what over at Amaru/Interscope records? I wanna know who is the one truly responsible for picking out all the weak singles and who is really caking off of 2pac. Young G, I don't know who you are or what type of connections you got, but if you can do anything positive as far as the music is concerned then focus on that. Because right now the kids coming up are sleeping on pac and even disrespecting him. And with these albums coming up, his respect and legacy looks to be maintained by the older generation, which is not such a positive if the upcoming generation looks past pac.
 
Oh yeah, and tell Edi Amen, Kastro, and Young Noble that I said "Fuck Them" for being Afeni's yesmen and not holding down 2pac the correct way after he passed. Look how they fucked up "This Life I Lead". Not to mention, those niggaz sat there and let Eminem fuck up lttg. They could've told Afeni and Em to chill on that album. Man Fuck them. Those cats are fake to me.
 
Hey, regardless of how she's handled his music since his passing, it's Afeni's choice, and I will have nothing but complete admiration for the job she did raising her son.

That being said, the album Em produced was bullshit, everybody knows that. That doesn't lower my love and respect for Afeni, but of course she's made some disappointing moves with 'Pac's music.
 
The interview will be done tom and Mil will swing by this thread to speak with you guys and chop it up in a real way cause that's what Mil and I are about progressing Pac's legacy and not letting these corporate greedy individuals eat off a dead man.
