The defence were good but Man Utd gave the ball away so cheaply. Carrick and Rooney especially.
how come when a foreign player dives, there is uproar and condemnation afterwards but when an english player does it, it is quickly forgotten about and hardly mentioned in post match analysis after the game?
Rooney dives today against Villa. it wasnt a terrible dive by any means but he still dived. Gerrard was supposed to have dived last week as well but i didnt see it so im not sure what exactly happened. But there is little or no criticism towards those players afterwards. They wont be on Gillett Soccer Saturday showing replays of Rooney's dive and blasting him like they did with Eduardo, Mascherano and more recently with David N'Gog. At least i doubt they will.

This is exactly what I've always said, when an English player dived it was "clever play" it was never "cheating".
Gerrard and Rooney have dived a few times in the past and nothing is ever said, this is why the C.Ronaldo diving situation used to bother me 'cause he rarely dived in his latter years at Man Utd but was still labelled a diver.
i think he has improved. He is a very good player imo but never a prolific goalscorer. He seems to have the same goal return of around 11-14 goals every season so he hasnt improved in that aspect of his game but he does get a lot of assists and is a very good all round footballer.
He hasnt lived up to the hype since his debut because they were labelling him as England's Pele and all that rubbish. He is overrated but there is no denying that he is a very good footballer even if he is a total prick
I think Rooney played reallly well today and defended very well aswell. He always looked a threat and tracked back when he lost the ball.
Personally I can't stand the cunt but give credit where it's due..

He lost the ball so easily, he couldn't give simple 3 yard passes to Berbatov or Valencia when they were in great positions. He tracked back which is what he does anyway but only because he fucked up the simplest of passes or crosses.
Valencias crossing was pretty poor also though and Park isn't a player I'd play in home games as we need more attack on the wings. I think Nani is leaving soon but Obertan looks good.
Evra once again was our best attacker :unsure:
Fletcher needs the midfield role, I know someone had to play Rightback, but we miss Fletcher when he doesn't play in midfield.

To think that City let him go to Villa for 6 million and replaced him with Lescott whom they bought for 24 million. that was ridiculous imo.
Cuellar is more suited to centre half but then you have Collins as well who is also a very good defender.

Nani is a weak piece of shite. Anderson isnt great either. A lot of money was spent on those two players and neither has lived up to expectations.
I remember reading about Anderson in World Soccer a few years back when he was at Porto. They described him as the new Ronaldinho. Well the only thing have in common is their hairstyle and nationality because Anderson is a different type of player and is nowhere near as good as Ronaldinho. That was a stupid comparison to make. Anderson is pretty average to me. similar to Lucas.
I don't care much for Liverpool, but man, things are looking really bad for them at the moment...
