If he said "Fuck you Negrito" that's obviously in a bad light as it's a direct insult.
Now, what if he said something along the lines of "What's the problem negrito? Have troubling keeping up with me?"
That I think can be split down the middle. Someone from North America for example would take it as "Whats the problem NIGGER? Having trouble keeping up with me? ... in South America, someone would just see it as a taunt, which happens all the time in professional sports. So, it all depends on the context, as well, as you mentioned, culturally relative.
Edit: I have no problem with a player lashing back at fans as long as it isn't physical violence. Remember that goal Adebayor scored against Arsenal, and he ran to the other side of the field just to taunt them? Well, I didn't see anything wrong with that. LOL. The FA did on the other hand, no? Didn't he receive a fine or a suspension?

Yeah...But he's not playing in South America. He's playing in Europe. It's not up to UK to adapt to Suarez' culture...It's up to him to understand that in Europe, "Negro" is a racial slur...
He was having an argument against the opposition full back, who is also somewhat of an annoying little prick. So, it was definitely an insult and 8 games wasn't enough of a punishment.
I think if he is found guilty by the CPS he will get a 6 month ban, and lose the England captaincy.
Lawlz. Football fans are disgusting. Well society is disgusting, but this stems from 'sticking up' for a player who plays for their club without using common sense. Before Bobby has a heart attack this isn't an attack on Liverpool fans, I bet if Hernandez called G.Johnson a Negritio Man Utd fans would be posting this shit also.

and a midfielder. although we wouldnt need one if we retained Meireles or Aquilani. I often wonder about Mereiles. I was thinking that he was always going to join Chelsea when Villas Boas became their coach. Perhaps he had been in contact with him in the summer about moving to Chelsea. After all, wasnt Mereiles the captain of Porto under Villas Boas?
But i was looking at a replay of the Liverpool v Arsenal game and it made me wonder. After he sets up Suarez for the goal, he was furious and appeared to give the middle finger towards the liverpool bench. Lucas and Suarez were trying to calm him down. Im not sure of the facts around that situation but to drop Mereiles to the bench at the start of this season in favour of Charlie Adam was an absolute disgrace.

Fucking disgusting. 10 years ago (I'm too mature now) I would have beat someone up over that blatant racism. Hiding behind a computer is easy. I bet they wouldn't say it to a black guy's face. Why are people going on about John Terry though? The FA haven't charged him because he is getting prosecuted under criminal law. That is far worse that what Suarez has received.

seems like downing, adam and carroll were bad buys. give carroll some more time though but he needs to get serious with concentrating on football.

I agree. I was thinking imagine if this was sent to Liverpool and they did something about it. Obviously it would be difficult but if clubs came out and condemned some of these fans they would stop doing it.
