I like what Liverpool are trying to do, and it seems their potentially best signing has gone right under the radar.

Also if Carroll fulfils his potential and Suarez settles easily, it will look like a good bit of business.

I also think it's wrong to compare transfers at different times of the year in different countries to these. £35 million is a ridiculous amount, but it is justifiable with basic economics.

Chelsea have never won the European Cup. they have little European pedigree and the one chance they got to win it, they bottled it.

they havent even won many leagues. whats it? something like 4 or 5 i think. they are not a big club if you look at football as a whole over all the years it has been played. just one of these false big clubs that are seen like that because of their wealth and as soon as that greedy Russian crook fucks off they will fall back where they belong. they only reason they had any success was because of Abramovich. they wouldnt have won jack shit without him. lets be honest about it.

Maybe I'm a football romantic, but when someone pledges their heart for a club, and promises to win something with them, I don't give a shit how much money is thrown at them, I'm disgusted. I know footy has changed and it's run more like a business at this point, but things like this just puts me off completely. I know some players do what they say... Totti comes to mind, I hate the fucker, but he was able to go anywhere at one point in his career and he stayed with those fruits in Rome. Nonetheless, it's a noble thing.

Gary Neville has retired, I know he isn't the most liked player of all time (total contrast to Giggs) but he has been one of the most consistant right backs in my generation, I throughly believe he is one of the most underrated players at Man Utd, we still haven't replaced him and he's been out the side for about 5 years.

Great right back. In my younger days I hated him, and blamed his defensive mistakes for England tournament exits. But I didn't have the football knowledge and listened to much to the media back then.

i hate Neville for obvious reasons but he was a great servant for his club and was always a very good right back up until maybe 3 years ago.

Suarez scores on his debut at least i think he has been credited with it now.

Yeah I'm not sure why either, I don't think he would play again though, He realises he is way off Premiership quality when he got subbed off against West Brom, you could tell he knew he should stop playing.

He has enough medals anyway
