Info on Villa Kit:

Villa's celebrated crest features one majestic lion - but the inspiration behind our new away kit suggests that three is the magic number.

David Platt scored a cracker against Belgium while wearing the Three Lions. Darius Vassell marked his debut for England with a spectacular scissor-kick against Holland while Gareth Barry captained England in the clash at Trinidad and Tobago.

All magical modern-day moments - and all evidence of the special bond between Villa and England.

Going further back, we've had the likes of Billy Walker, Harry Hampton and Howard Vaughton representing their country.

Walker was the first England player to score at Wembley and even deputised as goalkeeper for his country on one occasion. He was Villa's third England captain and the club's most capped player until David Platt broke that record 60 years later.

Meanwhile, Vaughton scored five goals in his first game for England - a total that has since only been equalled by Steve Bloomer, Willy Hall and Malcolm Macdonald.

Talking about remarkable figures - 67 stars have donned the Three Lions of England while playing for Villa - a record. This has proven to be the inspiration behind this season's away kit design - which will be unveiled on Sunday May 24.

Our new microsite has now launched - featuring profiles of a host of our international stars. It will be fully opened this weekend and will include imagery of our sensational second strip, the thinking behind the overall design, wallpapers and much, much more.

Liverpool had a bid of just over 20 million for Ezequiel Lavezzi rejected by Napoli.

He is a very good player but thats too much money for him imo. Maybe Andrea Dossena was part of the deal though.

i am celebrating. i hate newcastle with a passion. great to see them crying, down on their way to the championship. lol at phil brown singing (wait 5 mins before you run onto the pitch, for the safety of the players - lol).

Only reason Hull didn't go down was because of their great run at the beginning of the season. It practically saved them.

As for Newcastle, they've been shite all season. Deserved to go down.
