08/09 Premier League thread.

I thought they wern't good enough to win the league..

comments i made 4 months ago after a shit performance. why even bother? Its not really that they arent good enough, its just the way they played those games at that time.

the fact is we hammered ye 4-1 and hammered the shit out of most teams for the past 3 months while ye get referees help or poxx 1 goal victories. :)

im not gonna argue with you on this. its just my opinion that Liverpool deserved to win this season.

To say Man Utd don't deserve it is ignorant in my opinion, the league doesn't lie.

Yea Liverpool may have beaten us twice this year, so what? West ham beat us twice last year, so does that imply West Ham are a better team?
Liverpool have played some stunning football this season, but what good is scoring two quality goals at one end then conceding two sloppy ones at the other end?

Its not really an "ignorant opinion" when you consider that Man Utd only beat one team once from the other big 3 all season. In most of their other games they scraped past with a one goal win like the Wigan game for example.

Does it matter if you win by 1 goal or by 5 ? at the end of the day a win is a win

I know but all im saying is that Man Utd were never really that great this season. As i said, i think that Liverpool were better this season. If we had some luck we would have won it.

Obviously last season and the season before they were the best team by a mile.

As long as the referees didnt fuck up in a major way, the team on top was the best team of the season. Simple as that. You can try to argue all day long but at the end of the day, the league is about getting the most points. Not about scoring the most goals or anything else.

Howard Webb should not be allowed referee another game. That disgraceful decision could well be the difference between Newcastle staying up or not.

I didn't see the Newcastle incident. What happened...?

Oh Sandeep, the Aston Villa away kit is gonna be unveiled on June 20th, and the home kit, August 13th ... So it should be leaked maybe 2-3 weeks before the specific dates.

thanks man. that's a bit odd for us though, because usually our away kit is unveiled a few months after the home kit.

not too far away then, 4 days after my birthday :)

Nonsense. At home Liverpool drew with Stoke, Fulham, West Ham, Hull, Everton and City.

The big team that can't beat all those mediocre sides at home in one season doesn't deserve to be champions either. Liverpool were inconsistent, a championship is not won on 5 excellent games. You play 38.

Utd was by far the most consistent this season. Well played by them and congratulations to the Mancunians.
