wouldnt it be cool if all those Dutch internationals return to Dutch clubs and helped to raise the profile of league and make it as strongas it was in the 90's?

Yes.

It would be cool if Eastern Europe was feared again. Even though the Russians and Ukrainians are improving.

The Champions League money needs to be evened out, the way its going it will end up just being challanged by 4 teams.

They should abolish the seedings and just make the group stages a free for all. Would give the smaller teams a better chance of progressing.

Irish team ST Pats went to east Russia last week and came from 3-1 on agg down with 60 minutes gone to drawing 3-3 and go through on away goals. cant remember what team it was but they are a decent russian league team. Pity most of the Irish teams are in financial difficulty now though.

Most Eastern European countries have corrupt leagues and are quick to sell off talent. For example, my club got around 15 MIL in outgoing transfers, Kalinic, Gabric and Brkljaca to name a few, but when it came to replacing them, apparently there was 'no money' ... We got eliminated at home by Zilina for the Europa Cup, and for some reason our newly appointed manager gets a heart attack, 3 owners resign, 1 gets a bottle across the head, and now...our newly appointed CEO is called 'King Baker' cause he owns half of the bakery shops in Split and has a background of shady business.
It's like this in many other countries, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, (even though they have some stronger clubs like Cluj and Steua) etc .... but the talent is there, but the people making the right choices for the club aren't. In the 90s people feared Eastern European clubs, now for the most part, we're just laughable.......

Pompey's Kranjcar stated that he will be leaving next summer and probably will not renew his contract after being upset with Portsmouth's lack of streghtening the squad after all the loses. (They've only signed Piquionne as Crouch's replacement, since they gave up on Kalinic who eventually signed to Blackburn on a 7 MIL move) ... He is strongly linked with Redknapp's Tottenham and Wenger's Arsenal.

Piquionne was so awful for Lyon last season. I remember when they played St Etienne I believe..the guy was a joke, he went one on one with the keeper..and fell over.

Stephen Hunt joins Hull City and Fulham have put a bid in for Damien Duff. i bet he'll reject them and stay at Newcastle. Fulham wont match the wages he is on at Newcastle.

yes as a 4th of 5th choice centre half. big deal. there hardly gonna fork out 10 million on a someone like Turner or Shawcross just for back up.

Never knew he played with Rangers though.
