Lescott cost as much as Vidic, Agger and Skrtel combined but its worth noting that they weren't well recognised when they join Man Utd and Liverpool
he is a good player and has been one of the top performers in the premiership over the past two seasons. He scores a ridiculous amount of goals for a defender, like Laursen did for Villa. but 24 million is alot. maybe a fee in the region of 12-15 million would have been more appropriate.
I read a rumour today that Man Utd are going to offer Spurs 10 million and Michael Carrick for Modric. I doubt there is much truth in that but i dont rate Carrick highly at all. nothing special about him at all.

They weren't noted in the English Premier, but most of Eastern Europe (and other parts) knew Vidic someday would be a huge player. Same as Skrtel. Many clubs were on their asses way before Man U and company came in and snatched them... Russians clubs just like to wait for the best price before they sell em, we're in Eastern Europe here, we all do the same lol. Arshavin is a prime example at that.

Modric isn't gonna move from Tottenham. He said it himself, Redknapp wouldn't dare to give him away, no matter how much Fergie keeps bringing up Luka. oh i know. i knew about Vidic when he was at Red Star Belgrade and the other two before they joined liverpool. But they werent proven Premiership players like Lescott is.

They (Perez and the directors) want the shiniest diamons, they spent fortunes to get them, they barely strengthen themselves defensively (remember Perez let Makalele go at the first Galactico period, much to Zidane's disapproval) and then finally they dump the entire bunch in the trainer's lap with the message "go win stuff".

Looks like Richard Dunne will join Villa. good signing for Villa imo. Its what he needs in his career. Im sick of people labeling him as a poor defender because he played a few bad games last season in a team full of lightweights and a formation that offered the defense very little protection.I guess people only started watching Man City last season after they got rich. He is nearly always outstanding for Ireland and i hope he does well for Villa.

Apparently Stipe Pletikosa of Spartak Moscow is linked with Tottenham for a loan or permanent move to replace Gomes until that injury is over. I know he wants to leave Russia, and Tottenham seem to be only linked with Croats nowadays lol ... then again this is from the Daily Mail

looks as though the deal for dunne to sign for villa has stalled because he wants £2m of the transfer fee. he was due to have a testimonial match to reward him for his 10 year stay at the club, which he now isnt going to get, therefore wants compensation. (gareth barry and lee hendrie never got theirs either).
i dont want us to sign matthew upson because i hated him with a passion when he was at city. still hate him.
