Hope so. I hope Zenit play like they did in the Uefa cup. But Spartak Moscow got battered at home by Kiev. :/

Fenerbahce look good too. Didn't win the league somehow though.

Were not gonna get a balance if champions in Belguim etc aren't even seeded for the qualifiers. How the hell can they ever improve with odds on facing the bigger teams in Europe far greater?

I pretty sure i read that Harry Kewell scored in his first game..Even though he is injured alot i still think he better than anything we have on the wings..I hope he has a good season and stays healthy that will shove it up raffas ass..same with cisse scores a goal on his return to the premier league...

I mean Yossi and Kuyt are the biggest waste of space..But dont forget that Kuyt is playing out of position every game..

I wouldnt mind Quaresma its a shame he dosnt have an I after the S cause then i could actually get the name on the top and not get people asking who i am lol..

Kewell got enough chances at Liverpool. Its not Benitez's fault that he failed. He was injured most of the time. He never produced any sort of form when he did play. And dont forget that he was picking up big wages at Liverpool. Cisse was useless at Liverpool and Benitez gave him plenty of chances as well.

you mean like the old system? when there was only 8 teams in it. 2 groups of 4 with the winner of each group playing the final. That was much too short and there was a lot of one sided game in the group. then if you had 32 teams of only league champions from their respective countries, then you will end up with a horribly lob sided and boring tournament. Can you imagine if Real Madid or Man Utd played the champions of Liechtenstein? they would beat them about 20-0.
I get that, and I agree with most of it
but the smaller teams are never gonna catch up if they don't get the chance too..

they just shouldn't be made impossible to even get to the Champions League! It's ridiculous..
the champions should be seeded, and not be forced to play Liverpool before getting what the deserve: the CHAMPIONS League :p

Smaller teams will never catch up if they don't get some money, and they won't get the money unless they appear in the Champions League!

No point in giving Barcelona (and I'm a crazy Barcelona fan!) and Milan etc.. even more money to ruin the market even more (claims of 100m for Kaka, etc???? ridiculous)
give it to the smaller teams!

True..but dont you think Rafa will regret it just say if kewell hits 15 goals and kicks ass this season.. Im hoping that when it comes time to play sunderland again the defence is fully kicking because i see Cisse being too quick for our defenders..he could have a blinder
