I just borrowed ME1 from a friend and I really don't like it. I'm stuck in the beginning, I dunno how to fucking get to the marked point on the map. It's in the ruin yard and it just sits there blinking like a fucktard.

Then, I went further to the part where the guys speared and then comes alive, kill him, and then get to the door. Try to unlock it, fuck up the damn combo thing, and now I don't have enough points to unlock it. Fucking gay.

I'm probably going to return it to my friend soon.
Noob.

Yeah, I am a n00b but I still can't figure out where this cunt map thing wants me to go to. It's highlighting a rock, it seems, in an open field. WTF?

I can't remember too well since I played ME1 in early 2008 but the first mission is pretty straight forward if i recall. Just follow the path and go where it wants you to. If its highlighting a rock you probably just need to investigate it and move on from there.

tell me what the assignment or mission objective is? i might remember. i remember there was one section towards the end of Eden Prime that was a little confusing. there was a switch you had to activate or something like that.

Believe me, the game gets better after that mission.

After all I think that Mass Effect 2 is kind of better than ME1. Sure these "ammo clips" annoy me because I really preferred "overheating" from Mass effect 1 rather than reloading all the time but overall the game is better.
More characters, more dialogues, better graphics, more interesting quests.
I only found surveying annoying because it took me like 10 hours and I collected about 500k of each resource (100k of Element zero). Now I found out that it was a wrong thing to do because I don't even need half as much :p
So surveying > exploring with Mako.

What I hate the most is the weapon and armor system. What the hell, about 4 weapons of each type? No way to pick armors for my squad? No "upgrade slots" in weapons and armors? :(

I take back every negative thing I said about this game. I replayed it over christmas break as an adept on insanity and I'll now say it is just as good if not better than ME1.

Yeah I was the same. I also thought that DA was better than ME, then I thought that ME1 was better than ME2 and now I think that ME2 is slightly better than ME1 which in turn is better than Dragon Age.
It took me a full playthrough to realize that though. Also the Shadow Broker DLC imo is very good. I dislike DLCs but this one is like ME2.5.

It doesn't really seem to be all that awesome. I mean I ordered a new graphics card, took a few days off and all but the demo doesn't seem too great.
I still can't wait for ME3 which is also about to come out this year.
