Brazil wont make it past the second round? are you serious? Portugal i kind of agree with but Brazil? lol
If Spain, Brazil and Portugal progress through their groups (which most likely they will), one of them will play Spain, so one of them (Portugal or Brazil) will probably lose to a very in form Spain squad. But anything can happen.

Portugal has a few great players but they lack balance and overall quality.
And the Dutch do? Because alot of the teams being hyped up besides Brasil, Spain & Italy haven't done much to prove that they're shining with quality either over the last few years. I say this world cup is one of the most even world cup's ever.

id ihave doubts about Portugal mainly from the unconvincing manner in which they qualified and also the fact that they seem to be short on fire power up front. I just have a feeling they might not do too well.

Portugal has like one striker, lol. And even him you had to naturalize last year.

What do you have for great players? CR. Deco used to be one. Aaaaaaaand...I'm out of options.

I give brazil a 75% chance (if not more) to grab 1st in their group.

Portugal's 'forwards' for the WC

Cristiano Ronaldo - Age 25 - Real Madrid
Liedson - Age 32 - Sporting CP
Simao - Age 30 - Atletico Madrid
Amorim - Age 25 (0 app, 0 goals for the NT) - Benfica
Almeida - Age 26 - Werder Bremen

Yeah...

they have that Danny Alves lad as well but i suppose he is more of an attacking midfielder. was very impressed when i first saw him play for Zenit but hadnt heard anything about him until now. He scored a goal in their friendly.

Brazil are solid. Can't see past them.

Sorry Duke, the Dutch are the nearly men. Can't see no difference here.

England could have a nice "easy" run to the semis. The Germans will still have a decent world cup, it's what they do. Same with the Italians.

Serbia are my dark horses, a lot of talent in the team.

Robben's absence is a big blow to Holland imo.

given his form this season it is a shame that he wont play in the early games but it might benefit Holland if they can unleash him the knock out rounds. Id still have doubts over Holland's defence though. im not convinced.

I think Germany will reach the Semis.

Not a lot has been said about France, after all the controversy I thnk they will do quite well.

Unless someone else other than Rooney or Joe Cole puts in a good performance in an England shirt then I think we will probably crash out in the quarters.

Also the professor of statistics at my University derived some complicated algorithm to predict the winners and he came up with Spain.... I could've told him that three months ago.

They are always highly rated to take the Jules Rimet home.... But as of yet, haven't got their hands on it. Even with the amazing midfield you possess, can't see you getting past the quarters at most.

My apologies.

Edit - This was directed at Duke. I missed the quote somehow.

^^coming from an english man lol

but leave the English be. they think they are the greatest on the planet and thats all that matters :D

Don't matter how long ago it was. But we have won it. Unlike the Dutch and the Irish.

I don't think England will win it. But we do actually have a strong first 11. I can only think of 4 teams with stronger first elevens. And we have a pretty easy route if all results fall into place.

As for the winners. I don't think it will be Spain. And I think the French will struggle to get out the group stages. I could be completely wronmg though.

My fantasy football team tells my thoughts.

4 brazilians. 2 Spaniards. 2 Serbians and only 1 English and 1 Dutch Player. (and 1 South Korean)

unlike the irish lol

-who have only a population of less than 4 million. less than the major cities of england. so about 2 million is our pick for footballers when you think about it
-who have two national sports which are more popular and which football has to compete with for participants
-have also a good rugby team which again competes for participants.
-arent arrogant and belive that we are the best in the word unlike the deluded english. we know our limitations unlike you.

England has a population of 52,000,000. Football is the main sport played there. you have great facilities. Yet you have one measly World Cup to show for that.

as for Holland, the fact that they are alway competitive is a massive achievement for me. Holland has a population of less than 10 million and the amount of top class players they have produced over the years is unreal. they have played in 2 world cup finals and won a European championship which for me is on par with anything England has ever done.

When did you win anything then?

I am not claiming to be the best. But at time we have won trophies. You bitter Irish. Always casting an envious eye across the waters, have not.

We won world titles this year, did you? I also said Brazil would win.

I don't hate on them because their population is larger. Why? Because that's called an excuse. It's what losers use in arguments.
