now Blatter wants to abolish the offside rule

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has quizzed the sport of hockey on the benefits of scrapping their offside rule, amid talk that football could follow suit.

Offside decisions are often the most debated issues in football, but that could amazingly become a thing of the past if hockey's example is replicated.

The sport abolished the offside rule once and for all in 1998, a move that made for a more exciting and attractive game for spectators.

Now Hockey president Leandro Negre has confirmed he held informal talks with Blatter on how his game went about implementing the radical change.

Negre believes Blatter was keen on learning about how the sport was affected, although he stopped short of providing him with his final opinion.

"He asked me a lot of questions about it and how successful it was, although he never offered an opinion, so it was difficult to judge what football might do.

explained Negre.

"But he did seem very interested in how we had implemented it."

What is he stupid? lol. We'll have strikers just waiting up front all the time and all you'd have to do is long ball it to him.

Brazil 2 Ireland 0

I dont really get excited over this Brazil team. Dont get me wrong, i reckon they will be there or thereabouts to win the World Cup but there isnt really many real flair players that you would associate with Brazilian teams. I really hope Ronaldinho gets a call up. for entertainment purposes lol.

Watched England v Egypt. Egypt were good in the first half and played some nice football. England got on top in the second half as they ran out of steam. Im amazed Egypt couldnt make the World Cup and a bit disappointed that they didnt.

England are nothing special really.a lot of player arent playing well either and there are a few average players in the team imo. from the team that started tonight:

GK:Green- They havent really a set keeper but Green looks like he will play in goal at the WC. he is a decent keeper. They have that clown James on the bench though. state of his hair. grow up you retard. your 40 years old ffs.

RB: Brown- pretty average player imo. Johnson will probably start here though when fit.

CB: Upson- He is a decent premier league defender. nothing more. Ferdinand's constant injury problems are a worry for England.

CB: Terry- playing very poorly at the moment. overrated but still an important player. His indiscipline hasnt helped matters either. a total idiot.

LB: Baines- He did ok tonight imo. but he is no Ashley Cole. Baines is likely to play if Cole doesnt make it. Another big worry for england when you consider some of the talent that other countries have down the right side.

RM: Walcott- he can run fast. thats about it. not very skillful and doesnt have great technical ability. there is also SWP and Lennon who are a bit better but nothing special either imo. oh and golden balls as well lol.

CM: Barry-Mediocre. again limited technical ability. not very quick or skillful either. There is also Carrick as well who is probably better actually.

CM: Lampard- is an excellent player on his day but he almost always looks shit when playing for England

LM: Gerrard- a world class player who is in poor form at the moment. Milner replaced him. good player but not really proven at the highest level either.

FW: Rooney- One of the best in the world and in great form. a lot of pressure on him to deliver though.

FW: Defoe- I have doubts about him at the highest level. good finisher. Crouch scored 2 tonight. 20 goals in 37 games is a pretty good record. Cole is average enough.

Overall, England lacks creativity and doesnt have the skill or technical ability to really contend for the World Cup. A lot of key players are injured or off form and replacements are not good enough.

They do. SWP, Young, Rooney & J.Cole are creativie and have alot of technical ability...

I think Capello should keep Gerrard in the central cole and drop Lampard to the bench. He should have A.Young & SWP on the flanks with Rooney uptop with another striker than can hold the ball up well like Crouch, D Bent or C.Cole

This would be the team I would pick

---------Green
Johnson Ferdinand Terry Cole
---------Barry
SWP-----Gerrard-------A.Young
------Rooney Crouch/Cole/Bent

Serbia really are a great team... I think they will be the dark horses at the WC...
That's what they said in 2006 with their indestructible defense. lol.

Once the show opens, qualification and friendlies mean nothing. We're seen it happen dozens of times.

They have a good chance like many other teams. They got Antic as a manager though, so that helps a lot. lol
