theres also speculation that in 1000 years or so, our galaxy is going to collide with andromeda, although that doesn't necessarily mean our solar system will be one of the ones broken up or not

The Andromeda nebula??

Though sometimes called the Andromeda Nebula, it's actually a galaxy.

I don't know about the "1000 years" figure, according to Wikipedia:

"Projections indicate that the Andromeda Galaxy is on a collision course with the Milky Way, approaching at a speed of about 140 kilometres per second. Impact is predicted in about 3 billion years; the two galaxies will probably merge to form a giant elliptical."

lol at the people who think they're going 2 heaven. what the hell have you done to deserve it. if you're religious fair enough, but at least say why u think a certain thing is gonna happen.

the possibilities are: reincarnation as beings other than humans, reincarnation as a human, and 2 different levels of heaven, the higher of which i doubt anyone whose on this board will get to.

-based on my religious beliefs.

it said 1000 years on an episode i saw on that science channel (discovery i think)

I'm going to the Bardo state.

A bit of Tibetan philosophy, which is akin to religion. I also read somewhere that 'if you think that you are anything that can go anywhere then you are deluded.'

Ill be gone, but not forever.

Time will pass by, the universe will stop expanding, and start heading towards the centre of the universe where it all started, wich will cause an explosion, another big bang, this will happen in endless loops until the explosion matches the big bang, wich made me sit here and type this, so my life will be looped forever :p

If the universe stopped expanding then the universe would collapse. even if your theory of oscillating universe were true and its pretty obvious that it aint, your theory will fall victim to the laws of gravity and entropy. Basically the universe could only expand a couple of times before it ran out of energy and stopped expanding and contracting. Our universe is not eternal.

Oh yeah one last thing, you need to update yourself on this theory, but thats what im here for

Scientists have already abandoned this theory 10-15 years ago due to recent scientific research, which show that it is impossible for such an "oscillating" universe idea to come into being. The laws of physics offer no reason why a contracting universe should explode again after collapsing into a single point, it ought to stay just as it is. Nor do they offer a reason why an expanding universe should ever begin to contract in the first place.

Like i've said above, even if we allow that there is some mechanism by which this cycle of contraction-explosion-expansion does take place, the crucial point is that this cycle cannot go on for ever, as is claimed. Calculations for this model show that each universe will transfer an amount of entropy to its successor. In other words, the amount of useful energy available becomes less each time and every "opening" universe will open more slowly and have a larger diameter. This will cause a much smaller universe to form the next time around and so on, eventually petering out into nothing. Even if "open and close" universes can exist, they cannot endure for eternity.

"This theory is nothing but a feeble attempt to accommodate the fact of the Big Bang to notions about an infinite universe. Put briefly, the "oscillating" universe model is a hopeless fantasy whose physical reality is impossible." William Lane Craig

i dont view reincarnation as possible because its scientifically proven that the Earth will not live forever, and that eventually (5 billion years from now) the suns going to expand out past the orbit of Mars (earth will be long gone) and blow up, therefore fucking up our entire solar system

and you cant forget the our-solar-system-is-slowly-being-sucked-into-a-black-hole theories even though I dont buy into them
cheers for the info :)

I have trouble believing in anything other than the decomposition of our physical selves. I cannot comprehend more than that, but admire those that do. It would be nice to have confidence and faith in the existence of a heaven, but I cant help but feel that is just some kind of mental cushion used to distract us from the abrupt conclusiveness of death.
in nature there is always creation, death and recreation. Those hills that were lush with grass in the summer and were dead in winter are lush again in spring/summer.

So if there was a creator of the world then the same principles could be applied to our creation, death and recreation (into an afterlife of whatever sorts).

im going to hell thats for sure
but i will eventually end up in heaven after my punishment
We've come a long way man since the time when people like Uthman (RA) were declared jannatis by the Qu'ran but would still cry at the graveyards due to fear of punishment in the grave.

We've also come a long way since people like Abu Bakr had salaam sent upon them in the Quran but would still declare that:

"I wish I was a tree and the lumberjack would come and cut me, so then atleast I wouldn't have to stand before my Lord"
or
"I wish I was a blade of grass and the cattle would come and graze on me, atleast hten I would not have to stand and answer before by Lord"

ah damn i realized long time ago I'm going to hell man its all good I guess I learned to accept it I think it sucks though a lot of ppl in heaven I was hoping to see and I really miss but I always hear that our memory is wiped out so really if we happen to cross roads with em in heaven we wouldn't know who they are so I'm 50/50 on the whole thing but I must admit I'ma be an optimist on this I got the rest of my life to make it up to get chances to kick it in heaven when I'm done on this Earth.

But if the rule is true and we instantly go to hell once we commited a sin in 1 of the 10 commandments I'm buring for life and so is 90% of us so maybe just maybe it'll be like the movie when there isnt any room left in hell the dead walk the Earth I seriously wonder.

do aborted babies go to heaven
yes

do animals have souls
no

and to tha people saying it's up to God to decide where you go(heaven or hell). no it's not, it's up to YOU. YOU decide if you wanna be saved and YOU decide if you don't wanna be saved.
