Soccer is the most exciting sport

you misread my post, i was saying rugby players get injured more than nfl players. And what i said in my post was one of the reasons why americans may not like soccer, i never said it was my personal opinion. I kinda like lower scoring games, there's more strategy involved. And as for rookies getting that kind of money, it's not a good thing, you should have to prove yourself first before the big money comes

you know what i mean, goal then
Ok fair enough. i did misread it.

they just dont excite the American public that much because the dont tackle eachother ever single play.
Baseball player doesnt even make one single contact to opposite player.

More reasons why americans dont like soccer
1.American's HAVE to see a winner, if not their fuckin head will explode, and they will feel as if they have been screwed over because there is no clear cut victor.
Sad but true.

2.America already has major sports that cover ever season
That dont make sense. hockey and basketball almost starts same time.

3.Americans are shallow and want to see people suffer, or watch them get embarassed on TV, They dont wanna watch people kick a ball around a massive field for a couple hours.
Another words americans dont like to see soft athletes and lay plays. again baseball.

Americans are more for the quik fix type of thing, soccer is more stratigic, and you must be a lot more patient as a soccer player.
american football has strategies.

i dont agree that soccer is the most exciting sport simply because the field is so massive and it just doesnt seem "fast-paced" enough. Now dont get me wrong, these soccer players are some of the greatest atheltes in the world but they just dont excite the American public that much because the dont tackle eachother ever single play.
See, I don't like basketball because it's TOO fast-paced. The ball is constantly going from one end of the court to the other. There's no long build up.

you guys, this could just go on and on and on forever, why don't we just agree that american footbll is the best sport ever invented and leave it at that? lol

seriously tho, i don't really see why we just can't enjoy our own sports and be cool with that. there's no point in trying to prove which sport is better, because it's all based on personal preference and opinion. If you don't like soccer, fine then don't like it. don't like american football? fine, don't like it. we should all just agree to disagree and let this go

Let me first say I love both soccer and american football, and I've lived in Europe and the U.S.

Americans are not patient people. The lifestyle here is much faster paced. This includes their sports. They want their sports to be fast paced, with constant action and people beating the fuck out of each other as much as possible. They want to see people constantly scoring. It's kind of like quantity over quality.

Europeans are more patient and conservative people. I can't say I've been everywhere in Europe but generally it's not as fast paced as the US. They prefer quality over quantity. There aren't as many goals in soccer, but when one is scored, 100,000 fans go crazy. In basketball someone scores every 25 seconds, maybe 1 out of every 100 points scored in basketball sends the crows into such excitement as every goal in soccer.

Both are great in their own way.

1 point = a free throw = not excitning ;)

but i agree with everything you said...i've lived in both europe(croatia, bosnia) and america(canada). everything you said is true...altho in Canada, it's more of a mix of the two
