nuke the world. thats my mentality
i read your entire post, but this sums up your ignorance and stupidity. your wish will also cause you to die (are u underestimating the power of nukes?). It's sad to see u putting the blame on the world for not helping. Where was the help from our own fucking country and the president that should have come earlier than five days late? Yes, go ahead and blame others for "not helping." Read my previous post of all the aid being offered, and take back your entire post.

the us is getting help. Japan just pledged $200,000 to the American Red Cross, and $300,000 for equipment and supplies. Austrailia is giving $8million to the Red cross. the other countries offering money or aid include: Russia, Canada, France, Honduras, Germany, Venezuela, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Hungary, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, China, South Korea, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Guatemala, Paraguay, Belgium, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Italy, Guyana, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Lithuania, Spain, Dominica, Norway, Cuba and Bahamas.
So go ahead and keep whinig that America isn't getting any help.
I hope this is true, cause like I said, it's about the people here and not about politics, so even through me might not like the man in charge, we all should still help. I always thought that other countries would send help, you just gotta understand that it takes some time. You have to organize the help and before you actually can send the helpin troops or people over there - and then it still takes a while cause it's 5000 miles or more. If you think about it, you can understand that other countries need a couple of days until they actually can do something. In the meanwhile, the US should have helped themself and in my opinion, failed. How can it take 5 days until u get the people out? It's not like katerina poped out of nothing - I feel like they just didn't see/understand/ignored the danger before it actually hit the city.

Butt-kissers.

On a sidenote, I haven't seen you in awhile. If I remember correctly, it was right after the Lakers lost to the Pistons in the Finals. :)

We've got a lot of rebuilding to do. First, we're going to save lives and stabilize the situation. And then we're going to help these communities rebuild. The good news is -- and it's hard for some to see it now -- that out of this chaos is going to come a fantastic Gulf Coast, like it was before. Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- he's lost his entire house -- there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch. (Laughter.)
And I'm not looking forward to this trip. I got a feel for it when I flew over before. It -- for those who have not -- trying to conceive what we're talking about, it's as if the entire Gulf Coast were obliterated by a -- the worst kind of weapon you can imagine. And now we're going to go try to comfort people in that part of the world.

I didn't even know this place still existed. I moved on, this is probably my last post here. I'm surprised some of u are still here.

one more thing I wanted to add and make clear for those complaining about the "lack" of help from foreign countires. the US first rejected Canada's offers for help esp. transportation-which the folks at New Orleans could really use right now. They've also recently rejected Jamaica's offers to help. Good job the the US. Of course they're the poor, innocent, neglected, and hated victims.
And then there' the fact that National Guards have locked and shut down any ways for those hurricane victims stuck in the Superdome to escape and leave New Orleans. What a caring effort our government is giving these people. Do some research and look up the reality of the horrendous job our government is doing. The real neglected ones isn't the US government with foreign aid. It's the victims themselves. They're being neglected by their own govt.

Yes, I agree again. I read today that it took Bush like 4 days until he accepted help. The point is, after he's "asking" for help the other countries need a couple of days until there are finally there with their units/troops/stuff. I dunno, imagin if he would have asked for help from day one Igeuss all those people where out already - it might not even have taken 5 days to do so.

This government and GWBush failed badly, that's my conclusion.

A little something about the Hurricane.

It was a broiling August afternoon in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Big Easy, the City That Care Forgot. Those who ventured outside moved as if they were swimming in tupelo honey. Those inside paid silent homage to the man who invented air-conditioning as they watched TV "storm teams" warn of a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. Nothing surprising there: Hurricanes in August are as much a part of life in this town as hangovers on Ash Wednesday.

But the next day the storm gathered steam and drew a bead on the city. As the whirling maelstrom approached the coast, more than a million people evacuated to higher ground. Some 200,000 remained, however the car-less, the homeless, the aged and infirm, and those die-hard New Orleanians who look for any excuse to throw a party.

The storm hit Breton Sound with the fury of a nuclear warhead, pushing a deadly storm surge into Lake Pontchartrain. The water crept to the top of the massive berm that holds back the lake and then spilled over. Nearly 80 percent of New Orleans lies below sea level more than eight feet below in places so the water poured in. A liquid brown wall washed over the brick ranch homes of Gentilly, over the clapboard houses of the Ninth Ward, over the white-columned porches of the Garden District, until it raced through the bars and strip joints on Bourbon Street like the pale rider of the Apocalypse. As it reached 25 feet (eight meters) over parts of the city, people climbed onto roofs to escape it.

Thousands drowned in the murky brew that was soon contaminated by sewage and industrial waste. Thousands more who survived the flood later perished from dehydration and disease as they waited to be rescued. It took two months to pump the city dry, and by then the Big Easy was buried under a blanket of putrid sediment, a million people were homeless, and 50,000 were dead. It was the worst natural disaster in the history of the United States.

When did this calamity happen? It hasn't yet. But the doomsday scenario is not far-fetched. The Federal Emergency Management Agency lists a hurricane strike on New Orleans as one of the most dire threats to the nation, up there with a large earthquake in California or a terrorist attack on New York City. Even the Red Cross no longer opens hurricane shelters in the city, claiming the risk to its workers is too great.

well, blame the president, really. Experts did warn but he sent the money to Iraq. All this is a mess for the US and Bush really. Help is coming now but that can't take the shame away.
