In the midst of this natural disaster

#21
There's been floods and fires going on all over euroupe last week, did you Americans know about them? People have died and many have been left homeless and this damage has been spread over countries not just one city.
American ended up giving something like 2% of what they offered to the tsunami fund. Also, Bill Gates is richer than all African countries put together!!!!

With billions of dollars of widespread damage, a nightmare scenario, mass suffering amongst our people, no water, no food, no power, no sanitation, a city about to be flooded to its brim, fuel shortages, downed buildings, homes, stores, and widespread deaths:

Ponder this:

Where's the world support? Where's the immediate pledge of aid from our 'allies' and the world community? Where's France bashing other allies about not giving enough aid to the devastated region? Hell, where's France giving aide to the devastated region? Where are the foreign search teams, pledge of foreign military and search/rescue support, pledges of food, water, fuel, etc. Where are the rest of the G8 countries and their disaster assistance?

Nowhere to be fucking found that's where! Funny how whenever there's a foreign disaster, we're one of the first to offer assistance, one of the top aide givers. Yet when we get struck by something on this massive of a scale, nothing.

As an American, I am sickened that we kick in money to other countries and its "not enough", but yet these other countries don't donate shit towards us.

nuke the world. thats my mentality
wtf? u r not joking right?lol

1) im pretty sure u dont need help, u can handle the situation without support
2) u dont need money because u have more than any other nation
3) reading some posts in here makes clear that at least canada has offered help (according to what glockmatic posted)

http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index813.htm russia news source, questionable credability but makes you wonder...

Being kept from these American people also by their Military Rulers have been the uncounted offers of assistance from Nations all around the world, including: Venezuela has offered their Medical Airlift Command for the evacuation of peoples trapped in these devastated regions; Holland has offered the resources of their Public Works Ministry (and who are the acknowledged World Experts for below sea level water evacuation procedures); Russia has offered over 100,000 temporary living structures, along with Military Personal to assist their American counterparts; Iran has offered 1 Billion US Dollars in immediate assistance and guaranteed 5,000,000 barrels of oil at $35.00 US Dollars; China has offered their Military Rescue Forces (Who are acknowledged as one of the best in the world for rescuing peoples in flood ravaged areas.)

All of these offers, and more, the Military Leaders of the United States have declined, and for the their previously stated reason: “The United States Government and its People Respectfully Decline your offer of assistance and refer you to our previous State Department Bulletin (NCO:13788) in which we had stated that this remains an internal action.”

Exactly, instead of bitching at other countries for not giving aid - why don't you look at our own Federal Government. I was watching the news and the govt was "looking into" helping - but we know that wont happen because theyre too busy with Bush's takeover. It aint got shit 2 do with other countries, this country needs 2 get its shit 2gether and help ITSELF before helping other countries and being in places we dont belong.

Nuke the world? No, nuke the White House.
and the award for the most intelligent post of the last 24 hours goes too...

The richest and most powerful country in the world wondering why other countries aren't helping? America doesn't need help, maybe if there was an earthquake that ravaged the whole west coast and killed hundreds of thousands there would be help, but a hurricane that kills 50 isn't a situation where you ask, look or deserve foreign aid.

50 people? There are going to be ALOT more than that dead. They havent even been able to get to these people that are dead because almost all of new orleans is under water. Not only is this new orleans that was hit but biloxi, MS is totally flatend. There is nothing left. You should take this situation seriously. We need all the help we can get. Thousands of people have nothing left but the clothes on there back. It's like a 3rd world country down there right now. They will never see their cars, houses, and belongings ever again. Most importantly, some will not see their loved ones again.

P.S. Watch the news for atleast thirty minutes and get a better understanding of whats going on.

Now on to luv4pac4ever, like I said, how do you know if Bill Gates and all of these rappers aren't helping? Is it because they're not in the media? Where's the proof?
No, it's not in the media but you can bet if they were helping out, it would be. Don't think for one second that ANYONE who gives a significant amount of money isn't going to want it plastered all over the news. They will want that publicity. When have you ever known of a highly public figure giving alot of money to anything without it being all over the news? Hell when Beanie gave all that money towards the reward for that missing girl, it was publicized so why would this be any different? If you haven't heard it in the media, it's highly doubtful it's happened.
BTW, this is just my opinion. Maybe you don't agree with it, and it's all good if you don't, but this is how I feel personally.

Peace

even more Canadian aid coming to flooded areas

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2005/08/31/1196404-cp.html

"Yesterday, the Department of Human Health Services in the U.S. contacted our public health agency and asked for an inventory of emergency supplies that, if they need them, we could send at a moment's notice."

That inventory was completed Wednesday.

American officials are still assessing their needs, but in coming days Canada will be prepared to send everything from water purification systems to the Canadian military's Disaster Assistance Response Team.
B.C.'s provincial Heavy Urban Search and Rescue team was leaving for Lafayette, La. on Wednesday.

The state's goveror's office had requested help from the team, Solicitor General John Les said.

"We're the first non-U.S.-based team to be requested," Les said. "They're going to be helping as many people as they can."

The 45-person Vancouver-based team is trained in urban disaster relief and had been dispatched to Southeast Asia after the Boxing Day tsunami.

Elsewhere in Canada, Ontario is looking into whether its medical and hydro workers can help, and Premier Dalton McGuinty spoke to the U.S. ambassador to Canada asking what the province can do.

"We stand at the ready to assist," said McGuinty, who added Ontario could help with its Emergency Medical Assistance Team.

Everyone is donating money but there are still people stranded, and no one is going to get them. All day on CNN it was the people in the streets asking where the busses are. People might be donating a lot of money for food, clothes etc. But these people need a ride.So instead of that, the biggest thing going on is the National Guard taking arms, taking arms. You want shit to stop, take people out of the situation that is making them like this. People are dying, starving and want help, and no one is anywhere to be found. It's pathetic. Get them out.

I'm sure they are looting hospitals for TV's, hmmm lets think for one second, what is a hospital for? They are looting the hospital so they can survive. They need food, water, aide, whatever. This is about survival. Do you think if you were starving you would care who owned the store you are trying to find food in.
