In the midst of this natural disaster

With billions of dollars of widespread damage, a nightmare scenario, mass suffering amongst our people, no water, no food, no power, no sanitation, a city about to be flooded to its brim, fuel shortages, downed buildings, homes, stores, and widespread deaths:

Ponder this:

Where's the world support? Where's the immediate pledge of aid from our 'allies' and the world community? Where's France bashing other allies about not giving enough aid to the devastated region? Hell, where's France giving aide to the devastated region? Where are the foreign search teams, pledge of foreign military and search/rescue support, pledges of food, water, fuel, etc. Where are the rest of the G8 countries and their disaster assistance?

Nowhere to be fucking found that's where! Funny how whenever there's a foreign disaster, we're one of the first to offer assistance, one of the top aide givers. Yet when we get struck by something on this massive of a scale, nothing.

As an American, I am sickened that we kick in money to other countries and its "not enough", but yet these other countries don't donate shit towards us.

nuke the world. thats my mentality

Strange to see something serious coming from you :D
You do have a point though. I was wondering the same thing. Not only world help but help from right here in the US. How many people in the US are worth millions even billions of dollars? Too many to count. Don't you think Bill Gates could put some of his money to good use? Even rappers worth millions could get in on this. Send some water, ice, food, anything down there. I'm sure they could put off buying that million dollar chain to buy something to help these people out. These people are facing a worst disaster than the one they lived through. No homes, no food, no clothes, no jobs, some of them no families.
And what's worse, the government is getting richer off of us jacking up gas prices and making it more difficult for those of us not even hit by this. I hope they're using some of this money to give aide to these people.

RIP to those who lost their lives to Katrina and may God bless the ones who managed to survive.

This is America, buddy. America doesn't need help from other countries, Thailand and Somalia do(because I know you're hinting at the tsunami disaster). This country is so rich with money and the people in it so full of money that the country could sustain 10 of these every year. You shouldn't be asking why other countries aren't helping, you should be asking why your American heroes aren't helping. Maybe they are, you just don't know. Now on to luv4pac4ever, like I said, how do you know if Bill Gates and all of these rappers aren't helping? Is it because they're not in the media? Where's the proof?

Exactly, instead of bitching at other countries for not giving aid - why don't you look at our own Federal Government. I was watching the news and the govt was "looking into" helping - but we know that wont happen because theyre too busy with Bush's takeover. It aint got shit 2 do with other countries, this country needs 2 get its shit 2gether and help ITSELF before helping other countries and being in places we dont belong.

Nuke the world? No, nuke the White House.

The richest and most powerful country in the world wondering why other countries aren't helping? America doesn't need help, maybe if there was an earthquake that ravaged the whole west coast and killed hundreds of thousands there would be help, but a hurricane that kills 50 isn't a situation where you ask, look or deserve foreign aid.

We don't NEED help...to me, it's not really the fact that we need help, it's more like help would be nice and no one is there for us. It's not a big deal really, it's just more like the principal.

Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan said Ottawa is ready to provide assistance if needed.

"During this difficult time, we are offering our support to our friends and neighbours," McLellan said.

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper also offered words of support.

"Natural disasters such as this remind us that when our close friends and neighbours are in trouble we, as Canadians, are always ready to help out," he said.

The Canadian Salvation Army has offered to help with relief efforts and is welcoming cash donations.

the US didn't get foreign aid during 9/11, no money was given and no special teams went there (canadian firemen/police crossed the border to get there, but thats it). People will be relocated until their homes are built back, its not like the goverment isn't going to help them

Ok, here we go.

1. Did the USA ask for help? I didn't hear nothing about Bush asking for help. I think it's against the US mentality to ask other countries for help - but if that is the case, don't blame the rest of the world.

2. Do you really want to blame nations 5000 miles away that they don't help while YOUR president is on vacation?

3. Why do you blame France? It was the US that renamed their french fries to freedom fries because France didn't agree with your warplans - over the last years the US constantly hated on France, what do you expect now?

4. What about your allies? Maybe noone told you but you allies are mostly 3 world countries, Bush politics did piss off most parts of Europe - you don't have no allies here except England. We might help you cause we care about the people, but don't call us allies. You treat us like we are less worth then you for years, what do you expect now?

5. There were flooding the last couple of days in large parts of Europe. People died and the damage isn't estimated yet but it's gonna be an incredible sum. We have our own lil disaster here, u might not know about it, but it's not our fault if the US media isn't interested in what's happening abroad. And Guess what, when those flootings did start last week, noone send help neigther.

6. Last but not least, they US didn't sign Kyoto protocol and Bush doesn't plan to do so. You are not interested in saving this earth and our nature, you never were, now nature is strikin back....change your attitude so something like this might not happen again - but I guess it's easier to blame the allies.

Well I agree with Bank Robber that there is a problem amidst all of this but I also agree with Menace, you can't just blame the allies - bush is probably too proud to ask for help, don't matter that ppl are dying and losing their homes, he's still got his white house.
