no, the sponsership scandal is a scandal that happened after the 1995 Quebec referendum where the Liberal Party made programs to raise canadian patriotism in Quebec so there won't be anymore referendums. Millions of dollars were given to contracters (who were really friends of some goverment officials) without any work being done, this was revealed about 2 years ago (or was it a year?) so now theres an inquiry right now (the Gomery Commission) to find out who is guilty.

French is our other official language, we spent millions (if not BILLIONS) adding french to our signs, official documents, product and our goverment (you HAVE to know French to be a politician). Quebec schools enforce that parents who didn't go to english schools when they were younger have to send their children to an all-french school. English Canada has changed our way of living for Quebec, and the thanks we get is seperation. Bullshit
edit: Also, the plan for seperation doesn't make Quebec totally independant. Key seperatists say they will link their dollar with the Canadian dollar (aka USE the canadian dollar) and they want close ties politically. Seperation will fuck up the economy of Canada, Quebec and the United States since new trade agreements would need to be made and other trade/economic issues. Seperatists should take more time to really think about what to do if they DO seperate.

The problem with the separatists is that they are like spoiled children. They want their own house but they still want their parents to give them an allowance. I say if they want to seperate, let them. But they shouldn't get any help from the Canadian government. They would come crawling back in less than 5 years, guaranteed. As for who I will vote for, I'm not sure I want to vote for anybody. None of the parties look promising when it comes to the future of this country.
