Vote of non-confidence just happened and the goverment has fallen, elections will be called tomorrow and the campaigns will begin. I've already gotten some campaign letters from the NDP and Liberals. Who will you vote for and why?

I'm voting liberals again. The economy has been good for the past few years, and unemployment has been at its lowest for the past few decades. I would possibly vote for the Conservatives if Harpur wasn't the leader, he just seems like a douche bag to me.

In Canada there are 4 major political parties, New Democratic Party (NDP), Bloc Quebecois, Conservatives and Liberals. When a party has over half of the votes, they are a majority. If they have less than half of the votes it is a minority goverment. Minority goverments are usually always unstable since the other parties can call for a vote of Non-Confidence, meaning that they have lost all confidence in the leading party and the House falls (or Parliament dissolves, they lose the right to govern) and it is back to the campaign trail.

Last time there was a non-confidence vote the Liberals made a deal with NDP to stay alive.

the opposition (Conservatives, NDP, Quebecois) always want to take down the goverment, and since its a minority goverment the opposition can take them down if they all band together (therefore having more votes than the goverment). They want an election to possibly either become the majority party in goverment or to gain more seats so they have more power in the house of commons.

also the NDP did not support the liberals this time because the Liberals would not accept the demands the NDP put forward for health care (i think it was for budget)

IMO
basically, every party teamed up to bring down those Liberals. Too much scandal, too many lies and way too much ignorance is the main reason why this whole thing happened. As soon as the political campaign starts, its every party for itself. This was just a quick little team up. Kinda like Jada, Fat Joe and Ja Rule teaming up to take down 50.

oh, 1 more thing:

NDPs are communists
Liberals dont know wtf theyre doing and love to rob canada. (might i remind you of the sponsorship scandal?)
BQ only cares about Quebec

them conservatives are the only party worth giving a shot to.

Sounds like we Americans need to come up there. We have plenty of good conservatives, we can share. We'll definitely get rid of those communists. Those liberals, oh hell yes, they gots to go. BQ? Who the hell are they? 'Nuff said.

the conservatives = right wing religious nut jobs who cling onto Bush's balls. Remember what Stephen Harper said about the Iraq War? Or Missle Defense?

Here are my pros/cons for each party

Bloc Quebecois (BQ)
Pros - More attention to Quebec
Cons - Seperatists who ONLY look after Quebec

New Democratic Party (NDP)
Pros - Wants more work on social programs, pushes for greener energy like windpower
Cons - Impossible outlook for social programs, if the programs were put in the country would be bankrupt quick

Conservatives
Pros - Lower taxes, they'd abolish the gun registry
Cons - TOO right wing, social spending is a bit secretive, horrible leader (stephen harper)

Liberals
Pros - Powerful economy created, not too left wing
Cons - Sponsership scandal, throwing money away last week to possibly win votes, been in power for 12 years
