Don't forget to tune in tomorrow guys. Should be some juicy stuff from Samsung. I do hope, as you all said, the next line of S2 distinguishes itself from the Apple look.

I guess we'll see!

I'ma go take a big poop now, toodles.

Yeah and the fact that lower mid-end Galaxy Ace looks very similar to the Iphone 4 (and packs very similar specs - size, screen size, materials used) I thought that it might be a good idea - people can buy something that looks like Iphone 4 and has superior OS for many times less money.

However I hoped a Samsung flagship to be unique. However it looks like Samsung's whole new design has been made to look Applish. I understand that they aimed at the "masses" but I would feel a bit insulted by Samsung.
I've used a Fascinate and I didn't quite like it. The front is perfectly level and looks a bit bland, but what makes it worse is the curve on the back. I haven't taken a good look at the S2, but I think I remember it being thin and rectangular with not so many curves. I actually like that look better.

I hope Samsung makes a high-end phone with a physical keyboard, much like the Epic. I love the form-factor of my Droid and it's really gonna be tough for me to give it up. I use the keyboard occasionally to type, but for playing games, it's perfect. I don't like using d-pad arrows on the same screen I'm playing on.

Nokia said they went with WP7 because there are already too many players with Android. I think that that doesnt make much difference, because Nokia, if they want to can make it distinguishable from the rest... they have a good customer base. Also, like Motrola's case, Android can be the thing to increase sales and revive handset sales once more. They will thrive off Android/

Other phones...

Sony Xperia Pro

Sony Ericsson has just announced the mammoth Xperia Pro Android phone -- a slider device with a full QWERTY keyboard. The device sports a 3.7-inch, 854 x 480 display (which uses uses the company's Bravia graphics engine technology), runs atop a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, and is sporting SE's customized build of Gingerbread (Android 2.3). The phone has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, 2 megapixel front facing camera, and will be available in silver, red, and black. We're working on getting more info as we type, so stay tuned!
This one kinda interests me, being a powerful qwerty and all.

That Xperia is pretty damn nice. First phone I've seen with a 2mp front facing as well.

Galaxy S II is fucking nice. Nothing bad to say about it besides Touchwiz, which is a fix in our world. That's the phone to beat at the moment

How much would you get for your G2? I'm thinking about selling my Droid, but it clearly won't be worth it for me to buy a new phone at full price since my D1 is worth $100, if I'm lucky. That's at least another $350 for a midrange phone or close to $450 for a relatively new one.

That samsung has my eye. First step would be to get rid of the Samsung hubs and Touchwiz.

But.... I am happy with my i9000 currently. So will wait until my contract is done so that I can get my next purchase as a free upgrade. By which times something new will have my eye.

I went to buy the Advent Vega. Sold out everywhere...! : (
