^^well the fee being mentioned is something like 2 or 3 million which is nothing. we got 4.5 for Dossena. Maxi is a good player but hasnt been playing well for Atletico lately. Perhaps a change might get him going again. Liverpool havent much to lose with this deal.

^^id like to see him do well. it just never worked out for him at Liverpool. Perhaps he found it difficult to step up to the pace of the game. He worked hard by all accouts and scored a nice goal against Manchester United

I don't think Maxi will much improve on the likes of Riera who was in a lot better form when he joined Liverpool. Maxi has been in terrible form for about 18 months. I do like him though and strangely want him to succeed. :wondering:

Yeah I know he has flopped at Liverpool, but he was in form when Liverpool signed him, so it seemed a good signing. I still think Riera on his day can be awesome but he never really settled.

Maxi is a good player and on a free its a good gamble, but my point was I can't see what new he can bring to Liverpool especially as hes been below average for 18 months. I hope he gets time to settle, as people are already slating Aqualini after about 5 games. :?
