So apparently it has been decided by the court in California that gay marriage is still illegal, but they will allow existing same-sex marriages to continue.

Fucking ridiculous. What happened to live and let live? Who exactly is it hurting by allowing gay folks to get married? Nobody. Just let them get married if they want to.

If so many people in the West didn't live their lives according to a piece of shit made up bunch of fairy stories written thousands of years ago this shit wouldn't be a problem. And any religious nuts on here can suck it and neg rep me all you want - the Bible, Christianity and organised religion in general are not only stupid, but downright evil. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and that is exactly what all religions are, corrupt pieces of shit that are responsible for not only discrimination but also most of the ultimately pointless wars and killing that exists. Oh, somebody believes something different to what I do, let me go and kill them.

Usually I'm tolerant of Christianity and religion and just let them get on with their foolishness. But if they aren't going to be tolerant of other people, why should I be tolerant of them?

These homophobes and anti-gays are the same type of people who, fifty years ago, wanted to kill all the black people and make them use different facilities, sit on the back of the bus, etc etc. Just prejudiced against something different from them.

I'm not gay. I wasn't born gay, so I will never be gay, because it isn't a choice. You can't choose your sexuality. But what right does anybody have to dictate how someone else lives their life because of something that they have no control over? It is no different than discriminating based on color, or discriminating against disabled people.

The struggle the gay and lesbian community faces today is the modern day civil rights struggle the Blacks faced some 50 years ago.

A couple of decades from now, our kids will look back at this time and shake their heads in disgust and say the same things that we right now are saying about America in the 50s and that is "how on Earth could our predecessors be such barbarians?"

and I certainly don't mean to demean what the Blacks went through as we don't see gays lynched for example. But, I think the comparison can be made.

First off, God didn't create marriage, with churches and sermons and I do's and all that typical shit. He didn't say go to the courthouse and get a piece of paper and you're right in my eyes. I think any straight man or woman "opposed" to gay marriage, or gay people in general, have more feelings about homosexuality than they care to share...homosexuality does not concern me at all. I'm a christian, but I don't force my views on people. Even if someone doesn't agree with gay people, then so what, accoring to your views, they won't be in Heaven with you, so wtf does it matter?

Some people have this mindstate of "all gay men like to get pounded by as many men as possible, they're unclean, nasty, and evil," when really it is so far fetched and such bullshit I don't even know where to begin on trying to argue that. I have gay friends, I'm not gay. I'm a big fan of the vagina, I came from one, actually. But that doesn't mean I'm against gay people.

I believe everyone should have a right to believe whatever they want, be with whomever they want, suck whatever they want, lick whatever they want, weigh as much or as little as they want, marry whomever they want.

People focus too much on the negativity in life, no one stops to see the beauty in anything. If two men or two women can fall in love, straight people are bitter motherfuckers who are jealous because they can't find happiness in their own lives.

You truly can't help who you fall in love with. And it really is true, all you need is love. People need to stop hating people for their difference and embrace diversity, before we all die out. But sometimes I think that's what those kind of people want, that's the only happy ending for them.

i'd say a good bunch of people are over that stage of hating the homosexual and realize that it is natural...

my psychology professor explained that homosexuality was found in overcrowded populations of hamsters where males would hump other males... before that I always thought it was choice (and it still technically is) but it's more of a nature thing...

but what most of you don't seem to have in your arguments "just let them get married" is the fact that marriage comes with tax benefits and breaks... rewards for reproduction...

plus, if you allow gay marriage, what's next? i can see 20 years from now some of you guys arguing that humans have a right to marry animals... remember that just because you love something doesn't mean you should be allowed to marry or i'd be married to chocolate hardyharharhar

Perhaps your common sense could've informed you that you never made a choice to be attracted to the opposite sex either, it just happened, so why would gay people have that choice? Why on earth would anyone choose to be gay? The selection of suitable partners is significantly smaller, you face possibilities of discrimination (being beaten up for being a "fag" fits in under not living in peace, right?), relationship advice is harder to come by etc. there are 0 advantages to being gay. And sure they can choose not to have sex with people they're attracted to but would you? Would you become celibate?

Maybe you should extend your knowledge on homosexuality beyond what your psychology teacher told you about hamsters. Besides there's a difference between homosexuality and homosexual behavior and your teacher's theory on those hamsters only applies to homosexual behavior.
