the best thing about the movie was the submarine scene, that was mind blowing. that scene alone beats all of the battle scenes in war movies.

There are no better submarine scenes than the ones in Das Boot.

I can agree with that to a certain extent but when I look at the past best picture nominees and winners - I really can't say it's a crock of shit.

Brokeback Mountain shouldn't have won for anything, maybe only for Cinematography cause it has some great scenery. I watched that shit pusher movie. It's NOTHING different from any other love/drama movie where people cheat on each other. The only thing this movie did was make it look alright to cheat on your wife cause you're a fifi. At least, that's what it seems like it conveyed.
