New years Resolutions

I've never made a new years resolution and never will.

Its always been my opinion that if you're trying to change because its a new year, you're not going to change. And if you wanna make a change, why wait until jan 1st to make it? Do it right now.

your right about that. but when people do make resolutions they look at the 1st as a whole new opportunity. somebody looking to lose weight would rather do it Jan 1st, instead of Dec 18th. they figure 11 months of 2008 is already wasted and they can get there last eating binge of christmas cookies in.

in their mind they see Jan as a time to start over.

as far as resolutions the only thing i would like to change would be bettering myself at my job, making more money or leaving my company and going somewhere else for a better paying job. and finally going to school in the spring or fall.

Finally learn Java and C# well :(
Actually I'm doing it right now.
I have a project to do but I don't know how and that sucks.
Also I have to try and wake up earlier.

But I have no serious resolutions this year.
I'm too perfect xoxo

I studied Programming the first time i went to college. I failed all my christmas exams and dropped out shortly after christmas. I absolutely hated it.

None for me. I don't see the point, either you're going to do something or you aren't.. no time of the year is going to make a difference, this is all based on desire, follow through and commitment. That can't be forced due to it being a new year.

Ha so close to mine.

Get up earlier and learn ASP.NET.

:D

^ I'll be taking ASP .NET next year in school.

Anyway, my New Years Res usually revolved around the same things every year:

  • Getting my act together
  • Working harder in school
  • Making better use of my time
  • etc...

i achieved my last resolution.. lol. go me. then i dumped the bitch.

as far as this year... umm i really dunno. could say get in better shape but i've been doing that forever now.

could say 'move outta mommy's house' but prolly doing that before new years anyways

could say 'do better at work' but i plan on quitting for college in august

could say 'do better in school' but last semesters GPA was 0.25, its hard to do worse than that.

could say 'fall in love' but that is a very cliche and unlikely thing to happen, plus it doesnt happen on a time basis anyways.

so fuck it, no resolution this year. maybe it'll be to get a vip account? bahahaha, no.

my new years resolution is usually the same every year, i'm thinking of a change, i will take up to play the lotto for the rest of my life, that sounds like the best resolution i can come up with

The lottery is the tax on those who are bad at math.

I look at every year past and I reflect on what I did and what I could have done differently, as well as doing what I want to do, but held back for what ever reason.

Like this upcoming year, I don't want to let growing up get in the way of the things that I like to do:

Hiking, Bike riding, Basketball, Golf, Softball, etc.

So this year would be buy golf clubs and going to the local range, as well as the park and batting cages, and buy my bike.

Just things that I don't want to forget, so that way life isn't as stressful, because this year that stress and lack of kid fun put me in the hospital, therefore, I learned from the lesson and will try to not let it occur again.

1. Go back to studying University Full-time and really knuckle down so I can finish my degree with a bang.

2. seriously get rid of the people who bring me down and try to make me feel bad. actually, it's just one person, and it's already happened, but i'm committed to maintaining it through the next year.

3. learn and adapt ways to be more positive and optimistic about life.

4. quitting smoking

get a driver's license
No matter what, women can't drive.

:cheesy:

My New Years resolution...is getting more organized.

It will allow me move around quicker and get things accomplished. Once things are accomplished with whatever I was doing I most likely will keep the momentum going for other shit.

Point is, I want to do a lot this next year. You only live once.

I know someone that walked out with a .07 after two semesters. He was pre-pharm, but now he works at a pharmacy 40 miles away from school, by his house. I know he regrets it, since he's in town 4 days out of the week to come chill. But now he's become an annoying siht, that just pops in whenever he wants. But that's another story. I've come so close, so many times, but somehow I make it. Still, I know that dropping out of school isn't the answer and so many people regret it afterwards. I dunno if this guy is gonna get it together when he tries to come back this fall, but most of us doubt it; not with the way he's acting since his departure.
