People vote Republican because they have a personality disorder that leads to cognitive malfunctioning. No, it's because they have a certain stand on one or more issues and they think the Republican candidate represents their positions best. Religious and military people are more likely to vote Republican no matter who the candidate is. Many people, many Americans, are uneducated, misinformed, conditioned, and lazy. This is an interesting point. While stupid and closeminded people exist in every society it's up to the educational system (for all ages), the "intellectual system" if you will, to help people become more open minded.


I have no problem with someone voting for McCain (or the Dutch equivalient for someone of his opinions and policies) as long as they are making that decision based on content.

And not to Yank-bash here, but what always surprises me about American elections is that 80% of the time it's not about policies. It's about impressive speeches, slinging mud to the other camp, worrying if the wife looks good on television, worrying if you project the right image.

The constant fear and worry that someone, somewhere out there, in all of 300 million people United States, will take offense to the slightest thing you do. It's all so polished up it's almost surreal. One sort of loses sight of what it's about. The odd debate thrown in here and there are made into an entertainment show.

It's almost as if the American people (massive generalization, of course) don't take their elections that seriously.

But if Obama does what he did when campaigning, he'll try to please everyone and not make any big changes.

BUT...(example) a 16yr old girl is at a party and meets up with a guy who she falls in love with Madly.they hook up he takes her upstairs in a bedroom and knocks her up. 9 months later she's pregnant she tries to let him know he's a daddy. the guy flips out and says Noooo way i gotta go to college i got to put my life together. i cant be a father, she goes an have's an abortion??? NOOO the young guy needs to Man up and take responsibility and become a father. some american girls do have kids and they become single mother's at early ages. and other young females go and have that done *thats morally wrong*. that young baby had a purpose that unborn child might have ben destined to become the the person to cure Aids or cancer. but their life was cut short. cause mommy couldnt keep her legs closed. these Kids need to think of the consequences before they have sex.

I actually like the principal idea behind the republicans which is smaller government and less regulation on people's lives. Unfortunately, especially in the US there seems to be a paradox because Republicans are the first one's to try to tell you how to live your life.
