Georgia

You seem to have picked a side yourself.

Anyway, Russians have been on our side for a long time now. Also, I have Russian friends dear to me. If that's not sufficient, I'm also a psychopath who indulges in violence and bloodbath.

Me too
I drink Orthodox blood in a glass made of children skulls.

Okay I've heard about this a bit. What's the issue exactly?

Rebels in a georgian province of south ossetia want to seperate. A majority of citizens hold russian citizenship. Georgian forces went into south ossetia to quell the rebels and Russia has decided to go in to protect their citizens.

Or something like that

The "Fuck Russia" part was sarcasm.

And Russians only use you to have another say in Europe because no one else likes them in Europe. Thing is, Serbia is not respected in Europe, so most of the time, they are left alone...

But okay, that friend reason is good enough for me.

Oh kk. I don't think that separation will happen but eh.

Actually, Russians use us because of our strategic geopolitical position. Serbia doesn't have any say in international politics, so it's absurd to think that Russia needs us for that. In international politics, friend, it's not about who likes your or who hates you, it's about how much power and money you have. With that said, Serbia, the government, isn't respected. If you look at it, it's actually Serbia that uses Russia more when you think about it.

Still though, I chuckle at the fact that to this day, only 45 out of the 195 or so UN-recognized countries recognized Kosovo. The countries are either Islamic, western, or coerced into it by the Western powers (ie. Croatia).

If I've been understanding this correctly from the get-go, it's actually Georgian forces that violated the treaty first, correct?

So, why does the rest of the world (most notably the US with it's big fucking mouth) get on the Ruski's case?

If I "was" Russia I'd fuck Georgia up.

I guess you are a Realist? lol

They woke up because they fucked up. The Georgia-Russia conflict went there for years. The problem is that the world let Russian "mediatory" forces there. Russians = one side of the conflict and they were allowed to put their forces there. It was like they won the battle, but still Georgian people lived there. Now when Georgians tried to "remove" Russian forces from "their" territory the rest of the world woke up and realised what actually happened there. Actually most Georgians living in Ossetia consider themselves Ossetians so it's even more complicated.

I know about the situation. Both sides are not be trusted, but fact is that most South Ossetians want nothing to do with Georgia. Russia does the normal-superpower thing and extends it's influence over the area with troops (security forces, haha) and such (same thing the US would do were it their backyard).

Fact is also that Georgian forces moved in first. Now officially South-Ossetia is Georgian sovereign soil, but I do believe they violated the treaty signed a few years ago.

I mean, really, though, what were these Georgian dipshits thinking? They're a smallish, poor, not very strong country. How the fuck did they think they'd get away with provoking not only one of the world's strongest military powers, but also one of the world's most trigger happy military powers?

It's a 5'2 150 pound guy going up to a huge Hell's Angel and spitting in his beer. The fuck you think is gonna happen?

For all I care Russia annexes Georgia for "flagrant stupidity and lack of intellectual capacity".

You want to know why in the world a tiny country like Georgia would take on a country that's 40 times its size? It’s relatively simple. This was orchestrated in part to help McCain win the election. The neocons in this country exploited their relationship with the president of Georgia and said do not allow these two regions to secede. Two regions which border Russia, have a population that’s 90% Russian, and who mostly want to be Russian. Don’t allow them to secede. And yet we wanted the independence of Kosovo, but not these two regions because they’re aligned with Russia. And so Saakashvili was then given the green light to use military might. This is a man who has been to America and has all these neocon friends who told him not to be afraid of Russia because they don’t want to go up against NATO and the US and start another Cold War. Now being the megalomaniac that he is, Saakashvili convinced himself this was so. Just a few weeks before Georgia’s move, the US had special ops and Israeli “contractors” training the Georgian army! I wonder for what.

These two communities are of no real essence to Georgia. They have no major asset value. But it’s not asset; it’s ideological. And so they made a mistake. But Washington didn’t make a mistake. McCain and the war-mongering neocons he surrounds himself with wanted a provocation. Because as long as they can provoke Russia to over-react, knowing that Russia would go in and smack down the resistance, they can then say, my God, look at Russia. It could be another Afghanistan. But Russia’s not that stupid. Russia wants to put its money into mastering its own control of its industries, and that’s what it’s doing.

Unfortunately, Russia has not put its money into its own infrastructure. Its infrastructure is just dilapidated beyond imagination. You can’t even drink water out of a tap in Moscow or St. Petersburg. But Russia has too many connections worldwide now. Its money is being spent around the world. It cannot afford another Cold War. To do so would alienate the EU. Where do you think all oil and gas from Russia goes? It goes to Europe. So it has strong political ties and it needs to maintain those.

But this is exactly what the neocons need in order to beat the drums to create another fear campaign as they maintained for decades and exploited with the Cold War.

^^ In columbia Uni.

While that theory might be true, what you're also failing to realize jokerman is that Russian forces were already in the regions and were already making moves and if we had not attack them they would attack us and take away those two regions.

So, why didn't the Russians take away the two regions now? It makes more sense because they would seem less guilty since Georgia attacked first.
