That's insane. In this climate as well, he did 423,000 in ONE DAY?? Fuck me.

First week sales are going to be at least a million by the looks of it.

Of course he can sell records. Here's how I look at him..

I look at Lil Wayne as an "Entertainer Rapper". The same way I look at people like Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez as "Entertainment Singers". They can't really sing that good, but they are good at entertaining people and that gets them plenty of fans. They're entertainers. They will have a lot of fans and sell a lot of records.

Except for the fact that he can actually put out good records. It's his voice and you don't get him.
It's like with Eminem, he sold for reasons other than his talent but he's still talented.

Very True.

I don't like his voice either and sometimes he says the dumbest punchlines but you can't deny his talent.

There's alot of stupid motherfuckers out there.
lol, my thoughts exactly. Immortal Techniques lyrics immediately popped into my head
"so if your message ain't shit, fuck the records you sold
cuz if you go platinum, it's got nothing to do with luck
it just means that a million people are stupid as fuck"

I honestly just dont get him.

He puts out entertaining records. Just like the names I mentioned. Is he good at that? Yes, very good.. just like they are. We all know Eminem sold alot of records because he was white. He also sold alot of records because people saw he was a truly talented dude. He's a GOOD rapper. Weezy (in my own person opinion) is not a GOOD rapper. He's a good entertainer rapper (as I already explained). Just like Rick Ross and other dudes are. I'm trying to refrain from making a big list of names because I don't want to argue with anyone, lol. I know what you may be thinking too. All rappers are entertainers. To me, that's both true and false. There's plenty of rappers like that who ARE actually dope on the mic, but Weezy ain't one of them.

^^ You had to type all that up to feel comfortable saying Lil Wayne's wack. YOU KNOW THE TRUTH. Embrace yourself.
Man, I gotta explain myself when it comes to this dude, lol. Cause I don't want it to seem like i'm hating on the guy. It's not like I completely hate him. I can't stand him as far as his music goes and I think he's a fucked up dude, but he puts in a great deal of work. That I respect.

Thing is, if you hate is voice you'll can't really appreciate him fully. His delivery is part of what makes him good. Never heard an MC have as much fun on the mic as him. To me he took Jay-Z's style and made it his own ... and currently does it better. I'll give you that his output of trash is probably higher than other good rappers but when his general output is so high there's still more than enough good shit.

Bout to upload his verse from Ghostface's "Run" from The Wallabee Champ.

And you know BM J.R. is more than okay. Find a lyric sheet and rap along to see just how lovely he spits that shit. It's like my lil brother said 3 days ago about Snoop (he's listening to rap!!) "it sounds like the stuff he does is simplistic but once you rap it yourself you see it's that he makes it seem simple.

EDIT: Run (Remix)

Nah, I said B.M. JR is dope. I used to like that song. I haven't listened to it in a while. I don't know what it was about that song. And don't even get me started on Snoop, lol.

the man is very unique,.

after the having years of tupac wannabes in the rap game,
finally we got someone fronting their own personal individuality..

so he is going to stand out from the crowd, i do agree with linx in parts that he is an entertainer. which to me, is still not a bad thing at all.
