yeah, the price you have in america is pretty cheap, i don't see why you should be complaining. just drive cars with a 2.0 litre engine instead of 4 or 5
in lithuania we pay about 6,55 $ per gallon for gas and 6,99 $ per gallon for diesel.. and i drive a diesel car
that becomes ridiculous when you compare those prices to the average paid salary in lithuania...it's about 685 $ per month. country of miracles...

Eh, i've always looked at it the same way. You gotta get gas either way, so there's no point in bitching about the price. I guess when people are used to it being about the same price, they're gonna bitch if it goes up alot. Even if it IS alot lower than other countrys or whatever. It's almost $4 here and it sucks, but whatever. I don't really complain about it. I just bought a new car I thought would be better on gas than my last, but i'm not able to see the difference because of the significant jump in the gas prices.

Exxon mobile just made more money in the first quarter than any other business in the US. That's bullshit. Tax is way too high on that shit as well. I agree that some people buy these gas guzzlers they dont need.

But I can explain to you why gas is so much more important here in North America. We travel a great farther distance because we have to. The public transportation system isnt of any use if you dont live in downtown areas. Even then it isnt half as good as Europe's. If you don't have a car you are pretty much fucked because you might not be able to find work near you and need to drive to it. Every extra cent you pay at the gas pump hurts you at the end of the month.

Also the problem is how fast the gas prices have shot up in such a short period of time.

You get paid few times more than here and have 2 times cheaper gas.
We pay 2$/liter.
1 gallon = 4 liters.
1 liter in America = 1$

Buy yourself a more economic car instead of using 3-4 liter engines.
You'll also do something nice for your polluted environment

Gas prices in Europe have always been going up.
This year gas prices here are about 15% higher than they were last year. Actually everything here gets more expensive with every year, faster than in America - even considering that everything in the US is basically cheaper, some things even much cheaper..

I'm sorry but that is just stupid.

Yes you gotta get the gas anyway but that doesn't mean if they put ridiculous price on the gas, you should just sit and don't expect to say anything. Thats what they do whoever is in charged of raising gas prices, they're fucking with your brain making you believe that yes you still need to get the gas so whatever price they'll put on, they think you could be ok with. In the long run, it makes HUGE difference.

Thats not smart thinking "oh I still need the gas so whats the point of complaning''. thats called being puppet. They do whatever they want to make you buy the gas.

Same thing we metrocards and tolls you pay when you cross the bridge. They raised the metrocard and toll prices as well. Yes we all have to go to work by taking that subway and crossing that bridge so why complain? Well it hurts your wallet in the long run. People as a whole need to do some kind of demonstrations and marches and boycotts to show they won't just accept any price they put on gas, matrocards or tolls.
