When you buy a product that is made in Germany what does it say on it in German? Is it just machen in deutschland?

Haha machen in deutschland would translate to Doing in Germany.

to be honest i can't remember and can't think of it right now sorry.

Gonna need Seb on this one.

If you want direct translation idk to be honest.
maybe something like:
in Deutschland gemacht

But they may use different word instead of "machen".

edit:
I remember now - they use word "hergestellt" which means something like produced or constructed.
So it would be like "hergestellt in XXX"

This is pretty important, as it is a tattoo for a friend of German heritage I am designing as a surprise.

So if he is of German descent, he isn't made IN Germany.

Make one saying "indirectly comes from the North European area" :thumb: :D

Make sure that the phrase actually exists. Literal translations don't always work and it might be laughable. So, if there aren't "hergestellt in deutschland" phrases on German products in Germany, then it won't really make sense. I think anyway. Good luck.

Besides that..... is he a nazi or why would he tat something like that? :)

Whenever I buy something german in germany it just says "made in germany".

true. most products just have the english tag on it cause products these days are sold around the world. It also says made in china and not some strange chinese letters nobody abroad could read.

I wasn't beein serious....but isn't everyone with ties 2 germany a nazi these days?

Besides that, I wouldn't get myself a tatoo that says "made in wherever" - I think it's kinda stupid.

^^
You disappoint me so much. Any self-respecting Dutchman is ignorant towards anything German related.
