Oscar for Ledger is a sure thing, I think, since it was a leading-supporting-role. I'd like to see The Dark Night or Benjamin Button win Best Picture but the Academy has fooled me before, I can see Milk getting many sympathy votes.

i think 1993 The Fugitive was nominated
The closes thing to actions movies i can think winning an oscar would be films like the Platoon, Gladiator, Silence of the Lambs and Departed. I know they are not comic adaptations,

but its good that not only those sentimental dramas that make people cry always won oscars, which the January and December Realeases for the oscar rush.

^^^yeah but with the way you worded it, it seemed that you were under the impression that you thought it was. just trying to clear things up :)

anyway, i agree that the quality of the film warrants a nomination, but even when i saw it, i wasn't expecting it b/c these films never are.

Yeah I meant it HAS to be nominated. It would be the 1st comic book action movie to be nominated. It has to be nominated for Best Picture and for Best Supporting Role (Heath Ledger)
