OMG, I had my first ever migraine today, I thought I was going to die. I couldn't see out of my left eye for about 30 mins, I felt like I was going to pass out from the pressure over my right eye, seriously. Noise, lights, and smells irritated it. I think I hurled something fierce from the smell of bacon cooking downstairs. I had to be rushed to the ER to find out what was going on, they do all kinds of tests including a cat scan on my brain just to tell me it's a migraine and give me advil migraine pills. I hate to see my insurance bill for this month  That was seriously the worst thing i've ever experienced... it's subsiding a bit now but wow, that was horrible. Anyone else ever had a migraine before?

You're first migraine ever? What are you bionic woman? Everyone in life has a migraine but not their first in you're mid 20's. So before you went to the ER did you take any advil, tylenol?? Also why would you hate to see you're insurance bill? For me all I have to pay is the co-pay and the rest my insurance company pays for it.

I used to have migraines all the time. I took Topamax but I didn't like the side effects. I haven't had one in a long time. I'm an evil bitch when I have a migraine. or...more evil

migraines are extremely painful. i hardly believe this can be your first migraine ever maybe you had less painful ones before.

I fortunately haven't experienced that yet too.
I didn't even know that it's that painful.

Tho yesterday something painful happened to my knee, I couldn't walk, I felt pain all over my body.
It's okay now tho I have a strange feeling in my knee when I stand, walk, workout etc.

Interesting. I've never heard of someone experiencing one for the first time at your age. Generally people that get them, get them in their teens and either stop having them in their 20's or continue having them throughout life.

Thankfully, I don't get them anymore. I had severe migraines that the doctor gave me special medicine for. He told me certain things triggered my migraines: red dye #5 (wtf?), some certain foods, and even growth spurts. He said once I stopped growing I wouldn't get them anymore. And for the most part, I haven't.

i've been having leg problems since forever. doctors never found anything.

Yes, it was my first migraine ever. Um, apparently not everyone b/c here we are. I didn't because I was unable to see fully and losing consciousness, i've heard of them before but never experienced one nor do I know anyone who has so I didn't know what was going on. I hate to see it b/c it wasn't a regular doctor visit, with those I do only pay my $10 co pay. However, going through the emergency room and having a cat scan done on my brain is going to be considered out patient care and i'm going to have to pay my 30% of the total charges.

All the time? I'd hug you if I could, that shit was horrible :(

Why in the hell? *Sigh* Please explain to me how someone who knows me only from my posts on the board would hardly believe this is my first migraine? Kiddo, I've had maybe two headaches in the past five years or so. Did you just say that based upon what GITVIHC said?

Congratz then, seriously. That was the most interesting thing ever, but now it's gone although i'm still sensitive to smells, lights and noise. And I feel a bit groggy and evil, lol. I didn't even know they got that bad :(

Sorry about our knee, that's odd, been to a doctor?

Because you're a twenty-something! It usually starts in early teen years.

Been getting them since I was 7. They used to be so bad, I'd almost pass out from them.

I thought I was going to pass out, seriously. I can't even imagine going through that at the age of 7. :( Poor you, seriously. Did they ever go away?

Me either, so either you can consider yourself lucky since you've not had one or live out the rest of your days in fear waiting to see if you'll get one... :( hehehehehe totally kidding :D

yeah, I guess it's only American disease :)

I also never met anybody suffering from migraine

Understandable, however, if I stated that i've never had one before then i've never had one before. Carmi although she's a sweet girl seems to just repeat what someone else has already stated in most of her posts, at least the one's I pay attention to. Sometimes things just happen, if everything was black and white and predictable... life would be a lot easier. *shrugs shoulders* idk.
