Looking back on Jay-Z's controversial sample of "Me and My Girlfriend" what are your thoughts about the decision today? Was it the right thing to do, were and are u still ok with it? Is it just meh, who cares. Was it flattering that an enemy paid a somewhat tribute? Thoughts?

I don't really think it matters either way. it's not a great song, but it's not a horrible song, so it's not disrespectful. i think jay-z set out to do a song based on (not really a cover or a tribute to Pac) "me and my girlfriend" and he did just that. that's it.
and, if you think about it, Pac had beef with Jay, but Jay didn't have beef with Pac, so it's not really an enemy being disrespectful or respectful to him; it's just another artist.

It was said that Pac squashed his beef with Nas.. but dissed the shit out of Jay-z few days before he died (All Out and Hell 4 a hustla).
So he died with really big hate towards Jay-Z.
I think it was a bitch move from Jay-z, just trying to sell on Pac's stuff. Barely anybody knows that it's a 2pac song, most people I knew said it was one of the best JAYZ tracks and he was so generous throwing a 1second 2pac dedication.

I think Hate is such a strong word though. As crazy as it sounds, I like to challenge that notion. I really dont think Pac HATED Jay-Z. I understand the fued with Biggie and all, your friends with him your my enemy. I think Pac was just saying FU F that to anyone that had to do with Biggie. To my understanding i'm not even sure or remember if he even ever met Jay-Z. So on a personal level i dont believe he hated Jay. I also remember Suge saying in an interview Pac really didn't hate Jay-Z. (Althought we can't believe everything Suge says). Also i remember Fatal questioned Pac on not to diss Jay Z in the original Hitemup song since he had nothing to do with the beef. Also keep in mind the song Jay Z did was like 7-8 years LATER. I can understand there be controversy if Pac was still alive and shit was still on. But since peace has been restored and people really do love and appreciate Pac more now than when he was alive. I'm ok with it. Also the song stood on its own as well and not a total cop out of the original unlike what Ja Rule did with Pain.
oh does that really matter? We have as many 2pac and Jay-Z fans as anywhere else. People here listen to the same music that people listen to anywhere else. I'm sure most teenagers when this track got played had no idea that it was a 2pac track. Also me&my girlfriend wasn't his popular track so even people listening (not being a fan) to Tupac might not know it.
I bought Makaveli after 2 years of listening to him and I didn't know that track before.
If now Gunit with Mobb deep, Puffy or even Lil Wayne re-recorded and made video (with 1 second 2pac tribute) to originally 2pac track like "high speed", "when thugz cry" or "only fear of death" would teenagers now know that it was originally a 2pac track?

It was a bitch move by Jay for the simple matter that Pac didn't like him. And also the simple fact that you had all these new little "hip hop fans" that loved the song and had no fuckin clue that it sampled Pac's version. I remember i bumped Pac's version at a party while DJ'ing at the time and some little 14 year old girls came up and were like "this guy copied Jay z" to which i schooled her that Pac's version was the original.
However he cried all through cd Black...started from begin. throwing down the mic...
He is ok but like I said he is no Tupac...
