i figured out which book it was that this movie reminded me of. it is called My Side of the Mountain.

yes i know it is fictional and this movie is based on a real book. but when we were talking about it i said that this movie reminded me of a book i read in grade school and "my side of the mountain" was that book

I read the book in 1998. Great book and a great story about the guy. I still have it here somewhere in the garage.
