I just got approved for my brand new condo!!!!

No seriously, brand new, like they aren't finished with it yet.

2 bedroom, 2 bath, master bedroom has bath in it with a jacuzzi tub. Washer and Dryer, stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, exposed brick, recessed lighting in kicthen, track lighting almost everywhere else gas wood burning fireplace. It is the perfect blend of modern and artsy and vintage. In a great neighborhood, like 4 blocks from Lake Michigan. I am soo excited. I just got the call like 30 mins ago.

I'll post pics, um, probably later this weekend.I have to go sign all the required papers and get my keys sometime this weekend and i'll take pics then so I can get decorating ideas

Did you buy the condo or are renting it?

Congratulations if you bought it but if you are renting i dont see the big deal.

congratulations.

p.s. me and jazzy jeffy are moving in with you

after watching this south park marathon thing on comedy central, you sounded just like mr. garrison and his little ass puppet when you said that..

and where is this condo. at? if you got an offical website of the complex, we could see pics beforehand... not that you suck with a camera and might take shitty shots or anything...

Are they giving you any crazy incentives to buy it, some of the things I see are crazy, free flat panels and shit. That's something to be proud of though, congrats.

Thanks. No, it's not a complex. It's not a condo complex. It's a gut rehab of the older vintage buildings in this neighborhood called East Roger's Park (home of Loyola University) that's really popular right now in Chicago. They're doing gut rehabs of these huge graystones and old buildings built back in like the 20s or earlier and making them modern with few touches of the original frame (i.e exposed brick). I'm also only 5 mins from Northwestern Univ. which I hopefully will be attending next semester. :)

oh synful, you're smart going to NU... i thought everyone on here was a dumbass.. seriously...

then dont get a condo.. live in a shithole but go to #13 uni in the nation... gotta get your priorities straight woman

^There's no need to pay that much for an education. You can go to an in-state public institution and pay less than 20k.

Anyway, how's your first quarter going?

it's her choice... northwestern is, like said, one of the top unis in the nation... if you're an intelligent, well-rounded person, why shouldnt you go to a university with the same reputation?? thats not saying thats the only place she can go, because illinois has one of the best business schools schools as well as does the university of chicago which is ranked slightly higher than NU...

when she gets out of college she's more likely to get a well-paying job if she goes to a prestigious school than if she went to illinois state or any other state school... if it improves your chances for grad school or a job and then leads to you making the big bucks, then i think 45k is a good investment.... it is only for 2 years so it could have been worse... not that you find 90k between the couch cushions...

still, i'd say if money is a problem, just fuckin live in some apartment, not a condo, and go to NU... it isnt worth pinching pennies on your education if it's something that will pay off

Well, I could do just that but I don't want to. I have friends who right away put everything into their education and graduated after only 4 years. They aren't making a lot of money, they're single and overall miserable.

I've balanced a good education with my real life. I have real world job experience as well as a good education to back it up.

I don't have my degree yet and make more than most people who've been out of school for a year or two with their degrees and I also don't have the loans to pay off.
