FAB 4 In the Game

My opinion, the hottest right now:

(I will also suggest areas to improve upon)

1) Game - He's a great rapper. Nice voice, awesome flow. He has content and some lyrical ability. He's my favorite but he needs to stop name-dropping, at least stop saying Dre. He should challenge himself to make an album without saying Dre a single time. Now that would be shocking. He's great though. Ol' English is an amazing track.

2) Kanye West - Another hot emcee. He is unique. He has his own style, his own way of expressing himself. He doesn't sit around and try to act gangsta or talk about hoes, drugs and guns. He has shit to say and there's just something really appealing about him. As you guys already know from my "Graduation" review, I love his new album. Having said that, he needs to check his ego. You can be confident and yes, even cocky without crying every time you dont' win an award. I still love you though, Kanye.

3) Lupe Fiasco - Damn, thank you for breathing some fucking life into hip-hop. I don't care if you are a fan or not, you can't deny his skills. Lyrics are genuine and skillful. The content is there along with deep messages and he's very conscientious. This is a guy you can't overlook. Can't wait for his new album, "The Cool" which is supposed to drop Oct 30? At least, that was the last I heard. Any updates on this? Things to work on....hmmmmm well not much here honestly, but maybe he could nix songs like "Real" and "I gotcha" - seems like he's just trying to appeal to the masses on those and failing. Put your energy into gems like "Hurt Me Soul" and "He Say She Say"

4) Young Buck - Blew me away with his sophmore effort this year, "Buck the World" (yes, the title is retarded but the album is very impressive) Not much of a lyricist; definitely the weakest of the four rappers here, however he has such great energy and a powerful flow that draws you in. It's weird, he has lines that are not that lyrically impressive but they're so catchy to me that I become hooked on the songs: "I had a bad day / And my brother wouldn't have died if I had my AK...." "I'm about to see if it's true what an oozie do....." Can't overlook him in my opinion - much more talented than Lloyd Banks, a million times more talented than 50 and Yayo well, let's just say that the worst two albums I've purchased in the last couple years were the Bravehearts debut album which was dreadful and "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon" which lasted one day in my cd player and I will never play again. Such trash.

Honorable mention: I'm starting to get into Chamillionaire a little bit. I need to check out his new album, "Ultimate Victory." I might become a fan.
