Kanye West throws tantrum at VMAs

Kanye threw quite a tantrum after the Video Music Awards on Sunday night, saying he will boycott MTV.

West threw his tanti whilst waiting for an elevator in front of the media and other VIP’s.

His frustration spawned from losing all five categories for which he was nominated, including male artist of the year.

"That's two years in a row, man ... give a black man a chance," said West, stomping around his entourage and directing his comments at a reporter. "I'm trying hard man, I have the ... No. 1 record, man." Associated press

Last year, he crashed the stage at the MTV Europe Awards after not winning for best video.

ask yourself this question, after all his albums, all his mixtapes, the quality of music he has put out, etc.. and he doesn't have a single award?

He's not winning because the current masses are stuck on this modern day minstrel show that is called "Hip Hop". These tap dancing fools an their slave master CEO's have set Hip Hop back 20 years. Until someone wakes the hell up and rids us of this garbage, M.C.'s like Kanye and Nas, Common, Twalib and others stand no chance.

Yes he acted like a baby, but unfortunately Kanye until things change thats the way its gonna be.

i hope he does boycott MTV..there not the place to promote Hip Hop. Kanye should focus his attention to BET. MTV is for the rock and pop fans.

First of all, regarding the Pac and Biggie tributes, MTV had A LOT of coverage on both of them around the time they happened. MTV also did quite a few documentaries and news reports pertaining to Pac, and let's not forget about their involvement with Tupac: Resurrection. The only thing that springs to mind done by BET was their birthday special of Pac where they had MASTER P of all people hosting it then their 3 or 4 minute portion on Pac for their 25th anniversary special while Biggie had a lot more coverage.

Yes, MTV is mostly about pop culture, but that's what it is. It is not a hip-hop channel. But they do try to cover as much as they can, and recently they have been trying to pay better respect to the art form. Sure, they were pretty idiotic regarding it several years ago (let's not forget the Hip-Hop Music Video of the Year going to Sisqo for "Thong Song" one year), but I give them credit for their efforts while still covering other genres.

Award shows are always about popularity, always has been. CEO's or a Hip Hop savior isn't going to change that. Interesting that Kareem think we've gone back 20 years. I thought Hip Hop was the real shit in the 80's? Give me a break. Nothing has changed except for the people that are buying the music.

I suppose Run DMC's Walk This Way is great but Lupe Fiasco's attempt to work with Pink Floyd's material is wack?

As for Kanye, he needs to shut the fuck up and get back to making beats. Stop wasting his talent. Swallow some pride. He's should paint his white seven million dollar mansion black. It still looks nice without the plaques.
