Bad sleep

I get horrible sleep at night and need some advice. I read that you shouldn't watch TV or do anything that will get your mind goin like 30 minutes before you go to bed, which makes sense. I am one of those people can't go to bed without the TV on. I tried reading and that didn't work, I think it's cus I mainly read in the morning or early afternoon so when I start to read my body thinks it's time to wake up type shit but who knows. I workout daily so the idea of using energy and making yourself tired aint workin. Will a warm glass of milk help like how Dave Chapelle told me white people do or what. I think I'm kind of an insomniac, I don't really know shit about insomnia so I may be wrong. Help, I can't make a hundred posts ever again like I did tonight, for yours and my sake.
 
Well it's almost 5 AM here in Cali and im still awake playing Killzone because i can't sleep. But then again i am an insomniac and i've suffered with it for a few years now. One thing that has always helped me go to sleep when i just have to. Is that i lay down tryin to go to sleep, i put on my head phones, turn on some music, and i actually imagine the song as it plays out (sort of like making a video for the song in your head). That actually helps me out alot and puts me to sleep when i really just have to have some sleep. If you really think you have insomnia you should probably go see your doctor, although i never have because i dont want them puttin me on no sleeping meds that i can get hooked on but thats just me.
 
im a shit sleeper aswell, takes me a good hour to get to sleep. i usually play music that is more like a story instead of a song. the best one is "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot
 
Maybe I'll try the music thing again, I used to do back in High School but I remember I'd always move and twitch cus the music, probably bad choice of songs ha. DP thats the same exact reason I won't go see a doctor, fuck sleeping pills.

Some cognitive behavioral therapy would probably help you out... I have the same problem, sometimes it takes me a good 4 hours before I fall asleep, my mind just keeps goin like its in overdrive or something. They have sleep clinics that can figure out what the problem is without giving you pills (which you will most probably get hooked to.)
 
try falling asleep on a full stomach. or, dont sleep 24 hours and then try falling aleep again...and get urself back on routine.
 
I don't understand what's the big deal. Deprive yourself of sleep for 72 hours, smoke a quarter oz of weed and then see if you're an insomniac.
