So you're gonna listen to an artist who just has good beats, knowing his lyrics "aint all that"? And if you're gonna mention the new Bone Thugs album, how can you not mention the song "I Tried"? It's one of their best songs period imo. It's real dope.

WOW. Linx said a radio song is dope.

Wow, hell has frozen over.

The reason I think you haven't modernized is that you still hold a firm belief that good lyrics have to accompany good beats. I was like that too. When I was in the 7th grade, my English teacher asked us why we listen to hip-hop. The majority said beats and I was completely surprised. It was always lyrics for me. But, now, I don't have always time to listen to just a lyric. When I'm in the car, I need a really good beat to stop me from changing the song. I can't be in bumper to bumper traffic and concentrate hard on the lyrics.

Yeah, I was surprised it was even a radio song to be honest. I heard it before it got any radio play and thought the song was VERY dope. Then I heard it on the radio and said to myself.. what the fuck? It's the best song on their album imo.

And as far as that whole thing you have with me not modernizing, I dunno. I'm not all about the lyrics and that's that. Not at all. Why won't I bump a Lil Wayne or Young Jeezy track in my car? Because they're whack to me. I just don't listen to people I think are whack. I don't care if they have dope beats. Lil Wayne just happens to be one of those rappers I cannot stand. Most people have one or two of those. It's not me hating on him, cause i've said many times that he deserves props for being a hard worker. So it's not like i'm trying to knock Lil Wayne's hustle. Dude is extremely annoying and corny to me. I'm not on the "I don't like commercialized music" bandwagon. I know you might think that, but it aint like that at all.

I just like what I like.. just like anyone else, ya know? Ask me what I like most about Hip Hop and i'll say an MC who can spit. Who can? Nas, Kool G Rap, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Az, Big Punisher, Big L, Biggie, Pharoahe Monch, Black Thought, Royce 59, Redman, Mos Def, Jay, DMX, Eminem, Common, Joe Budden etc. I could ask myself.. well why do I prefer (insert a name I just threw out here) over Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy etc? Then i'd throw on a track by one and a track by the other and i'd know right there. There's a big difference.

I listen to people like Jadakiss, Saigon, Beanie Sigel, Cormega, Crooked I, Fat Joe, Styles, Ludacris, Sticky Fingaz, Scarface, Termanology, The Game and even 50 Cent on occasion as well. I very much see what you're saying. You probably wouldn't wanna listen to some Big Daddy Kane or Canibus when you're in the car and that's fine. But there's plenty of dope rappers with good beats as well. To me, Lil Wayne, Jim Jones, Camron, Juelz Santana, Young Jeezy, TI etc. just don't cut it for me. I listed a bunch of them that do.

It's like I said, I like what I like. I listen to Whodini for christs sake. What does that say?

Whodini is good, not as good as Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five tho.
Bah. It's normal for people to compare, but I hate when people do it too often. It's your opinion though and that's cool. I wouldn't really say I enjoy one more than the other as I listen to both. I'm a big old school head as well.
