IMO Christ The Redeemer shouldn't be there. Ya its a nice statue and put in a good place, but whats so amazing about it? Its not like it was chiseled out of a a huge piece of granite, its made of concrete and steel. Stonehenge or Angkor Wat should have made it on the list imo.

(I could only put 4 images up instead of 7 so I kept pics of the wonders that aren't as well known)

Was about to post it, too.

I agree with you about the redeemer. Angkor Wat would have been my choice.

pretty cool, the one in mexico looks pretty cool, id like to visit that one day.
I've been there. It's awesome. The Mayan people had a crazy understanding of acoustics. If you stand by the pyramid and clap your hands, the sound echoes off the steps and makes a noise very similar to the chirping call of the Quetzal bird, which the Mayans considered sacred.

if this is the 'new' seven wonders im gonna hate to re visit the old
Of the original seven, only the Pyramid of Giza still stands.

"To be included on the new list, the wonders had to be man-made, completed before 2000, and in an "acceptable" state of preservation."

Paris fails on all three counts; she was spawned by the devil, she wasn't 'completed' until after 2000 (nose jobs, cheek implants) and...well, the last one's pretty obvious.

Christ the Redeemer shouldn't be there. but i agree with the rest!

what where the old 7 world wonders?

I have set eyes on the wall of lofty Babylon on which is a road for chariots, and the statue of Zeus by the Alpheus, and the hanging gardens, and the Colossus of the Sun, and the huge labour of the high pyramids, and the vast tomb of Mausolus; but when I saw the house of Artemis that mounted to the clouds, those other marvels lost their brilliancy, and I said, 'Lo, apart from Olympus, the Sun never looked on aught so grand.'

4 were destroyed by earthquakes.

Only the Grerat Pyramid is still there, and that is the oldest. Colossus only lasted 56 years....

This is cool and Im glad they did it but its not even being recognized by something something united nations something. I guess it isnt gonna be accepted by whomever. So its not official.

Loooool, you genious :p

Having everyone vote on this is like having everyone vote for the greatest works of literature. We'd see The DaVinci Code and Harry Potter books included no doubt. And the Left Behind series from all the Christians.

so do those replace the old ones that are left...... cause i think how the hell they made the pyramids is pretty amazing
and i forgot about Stone Henge they had carry those big ass boulders from like 400 miles away or something
