I was never a fan of transformers, hell I didn't even know about them much before seeing this movie. It's entertaining in other ways than just watching the CGI, which bored me to be honest. I just waited for them to transform back to the sick cars.

believe me, if you wait for DVD, you're gonna kick yourself for note experiencing it in the theater. there's nothing wrong with going to the movies solo...i mean you are there to watch a movie, not socialize.

Well, after reading some of the comments on there, a lot of people seem to have a problem with the director, Michael Bay. The opinions of the movie are very very mixed. Incase I get any hate from some of you, none of these comments reflect my opinion of the movie as I havent even watched it!!! Its been released here probably around the 27th of July.

Examples of the bad comments:

a) Transformers... they're more than meets the eye. But this film sure wasn't. In fact it was less than. How Michael Bay is able to continue to work is beyond me, because it was pretty damn hard to mess up an 80s cultural icon such as the Transformers, and yet he did it good CGI, horrendous camera work and a poor script. The first hour of the film was so boring, I was fidgeting just to stay awake, by hour two, I was watching a glorified commercial for GM. Also, the night scenes were extremely grainy, they looked like they were shot in 24p with the gain turned up. I could go on about how bad this movie was, but I will spare you, unlike this dragging, awful attempt at an sci-fi action flick... Just stay away. 3/10

Caution: Please detach brain from body before watching.

Then of course there are the good comments:

Now when it was announced that they were going to make a live action movie out of Transformers I thought,"NOOOOO DON'T DO THIS TO ME"! But then when they started to show the trailers I was very like---I don't know! Now that I have seen it I think that Michael Bay and Co. has absolutely pulled of the most UNBELIEVABLE CARTOON TO LIVE ACTION conversion, EVER!! This movie has everything that US Transformers FANS, loved about the cartoons. When I saw that they had recruited the same guy that actually talked for Optimus in the cartoon, I was already like this is going to be really good. This movie is nonstop action all they way through and also this movie was funnier then some other comedy movies! It was perfect in every way and I might go and see it again! Oh, For those that hated it, I guess you would rather see a bland transformation of the more that meets the eye bunch. Michael Bay, Shia Lebouf, and the rest of the cast, I have a Message from the rest of us Transformers Fans: YOU'VE GOT THE TOUCH!!!

Not true. The Ninja Turtles was better. However:

Transformers > Spider-Men > X-Men

Are those the only cartoon/comic movie worth mentioning?

^^^i thought they did a good job with fantastic four, especially the latest one.

it should be interesting to see how well they pull off the live action g.i. joe movie

i would add 300 to the list, that was a comic, and Sin City.

i would add V for Vendetta to the list but the movie pretty much had nothing at all to do with the original comic other than that main character

Add Constantine to the list, I really dug that movie. Hope they make part 2. And also Blade 1 and 2 kicked ass, 3 was meh but Jessica Biel made it watchable hehe.

Batman Begins > Spider-Men > X-Men

As for Batman Begins vs. Transformers...the transformers wins out amongst fans BUT because it relies on humor, pop-cultural references, and because the look of the new camaro (and megan fox) alone is enough to pay $10 to see the movie.

I agree, Constantine is one of my all time fav. comic to film movies. Keanu actually did a good job on this movie but it's too bad it is so underrated. And just a heads up Ruk, they are actually working on a sequel!
